Dear Carrol:<br />
I see by <strong>the</strong> 30-Year Club newsletter th<strong>at</strong> you are editing <strong>the</strong><br />
Timberlines. I think you may be interested in <strong>the</strong> enclosed<br />
draft <strong>of</strong> a paper my Uncle prepared in 1949. The only d<strong>at</strong>e on<br />
<strong>th<strong>is</strong></strong> paper was added by K. P. Cecil on <strong>the</strong> last page.<br />
As many retirees will recall, I was ra<strong>is</strong>ed by my Aunt and Uncle,<br />
Edwin J. and Lesh J. Fenby. As I recall, my Uncle was asked to<br />
write some <strong>of</strong> h<strong>is</strong> memoirs just prior to h<strong>is</strong> retirement. Th<strong>is</strong><br />
<strong>is</strong> a copy <strong>of</strong> a copy th<strong>at</strong> I have and I do not Imow where <strong>the</strong> original<br />
<strong>is</strong>. I suspect somewhere in <strong>the</strong> archives <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Mt. Baker-<br />
Snoqualniie files.<br />
Undoubtedly <strong>th<strong>is</strong></strong> paper will gener<strong>at</strong>e comments from o<strong>the</strong>r retirees.<br />
After you read <strong>th<strong>is</strong></strong>, if you have any questions, I will try to<br />
answer <strong>the</strong>m, or direct you to some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> many retirees tho may<br />
recall some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> events and areas described in <strong>th<strong>is</strong></strong> paper.<br />

Sincerely,<br />
