Plans forthe extension began in 2017, chief<br />
executivePeter Crightonsays.<br />
‘‘It wasapparentthattherewould be asignificant<br />
population increase in the districtoverthe next<br />
20 years,and it wasconsidered thatthe current<br />
storesize, with subsequentlimitations on the<br />
range thatcould be offered,had little capacityto<br />
accommodate forthis futuregrowth.<br />
‘‘Thenew spacewill give us the opportunityto<br />
better showcase our products,provide awider<br />
range of goods forour customers,and an improved<br />
shopping experiencefor them,’’ Mr Crightonsays.<br />

<strong>Canterbury</strong>’slargest employers and has a<br />
tremendously loyalcustomer base.<br />
