his dream to become a perfumer, a profession that is only<br />
followed by less than 500 people across the world.<br />
Upon performing many tasks in the laboratory and marketing<br />
departments within the first five years of his tenure at the<br />
company, Koray Sevinç now continues his career journey as a<br />
perfumer. Koray Sevinç’s interest in fragrances developed at an<br />
early age. He states, “The second I decided to be a perfumer,<br />
working at MG International Fragrance Company has become<br />
one of my biggest dreams.”<br />
FRAGRANCE OF TOMORROW WILL SIGNIFY THE<br />
RETURN TO HOPE AND NATURE<br />
The young talent Koray Sevinç shares his views on the current<br />
situation of the perfumery industry, the pandemic, and its<br />
aftermath. From a futuristic perspective, Koray Sevinç shares<br />
his insights on what kind of fragrance will be trending in the<br />
future: “If the fragrance of the future had a color, I imagine it<br />
would land somewhere between the tones of grey and green.<br />
Imagine the tones of grey symbolizing the anxiety and distress<br />
caused by the pandemic in a harmonious balance with the tones<br />
of green that would signify returning to hope and nature. While<br />
a bit metallic and misty, it would also be a bit green and woody.”<br />
When did you first realize that you were drawn to<br />
fragrances?<br />
I have always been interested in fragrance ever since I was a<br />
child. You could say that I had this huge motivation to smell<br />
anything that comes to mind. I owe the most notable olfactive<br />
memories that still accompany me in this journey to my<br />
grandfather’s orchard full of fruit trees, flowers, and various<br />
vegetables. I remember my father trying hard to take me<br />
away from the cosmetics sections in stores because I would<br />
uncap and smell everything. I have always been interested in<br />
perfumery but it was in my college years when I fully became<br />
aware of my style.<br />

Genç yetenek Koray Sevinç; parfüm dünyasının bugününü,<br />
pandemi sürecini ve geleceğini değerlendiriyor. Koray Sevinç<br />
geleceğin trend kokusu üzerine fütüristik bir bakış aşısıyla<br />
şunları söylüyor: “Geleceğin kokusunun bir rengi olsaydı gri<br />
ve yeşil tonları arasında bir yerde olurdu gibi geliyor bana.<br />
Pandeminin yarattığı endişe ve kasvetin gri tonları, umudun<br />
ve doğaya dönüşün yeşil tonlarıyla bir uyum ve denge içinde.<br />
Biraz metalik ve dumanlı biraz da yeşil ve odunsu.”<br />
Parfüme olan ilginizi ne zaman fark ettiniz?<br />
Kokuya çocukluğumdan beri merakım vardı. Aklınıza<br />
gelebilecek her şeyi koklama motivasyonuna sahiptim<br />
diyebilirim. Dedemin meyve ağaçları, çiçekler ve çeşitli<br />
sebzelerle dolu bahçesi kokusal yolculuğumda bana en<br />
unutulmaz olfaktif anıları kazandırdı. Babamın beni<br />
kozmetik reyonlarından uzaklaştırmaya çalıştığını<br />
hatırlıyorum çünkü her şeyi açıp kokluyordum. Parfüme<br />
her zaman merakım vardı ama tam olarak tarzımı anlamam<br />
üniversite yıllarına dayanıyor. Frédéric Malle, Serge Lutens,<br />
Annick Goutal, Guerlain gibi sektörün mihenk taşlarının<br />
yarattığı şaheserleri denemek, parfümlere olan merakım<br />
daha da attırdı diyebilirim.
