11:52 a.m. Tuesday at 3 Highland<br />

Park. A caller reported his brother got<br />

into an argument and tried to burn<br />

down the house. Police reported the<br />

fire was extinguished and the brother<br />

fled in a vehicle, which was stopped<br />

at Wallis and Tremont streets. Saulo<br />

someone drove off without paying<br />

for gas. Police reported the person<br />

in a baseball cap was shouting “call<br />

the cops” while chasing a man in a<br />

at 22 Johnson St. A caller reported<br />

two suspicious men entered the<br />

building, filled a cart with items from<br />

the kitchen, loaded an unknown vehicle<br />

and fled the area. Management<br />

was contacted and advised of some<br />

security issues at the location.<br />

at 7:47 a.m. Saturday at Maddy’s Car<br />

Wash at 300 Andover St. Police reported<br />

a man in his 60s broke into<br />

the vacuum machine and stole $200<br />

to $300 in change. He was reportedly<br />

driving a black Land Rover with a<br />

trailer.<br />

A caller reported a coyote was<br />

going through residents’ trash at 1:09<br />

p.m. Saturday at 2 Farm Ave. Police<br />

reported the coyote was no longer on<br />

scene upon arrival, but there was a<br />

good amount of trash out front.<br />

Salem Police located the vehicle at<br />

280 Highland Ave. in Salem. Joseph<br />

Mandes, 40, homeless, was issued a<br />

summons for carjacking, aggravated<br />

assault and battery with a dangerous<br />

weapon and operation of a motor vehicle<br />

with a suspended license. The<br />

owner of the vehicle was treated at<br />

Salem Hospital for his injuries.<br />
