System 7’s
experience
center takes the
complexity out
of technology
decisions.
Systematic Approach
Gerard Lynch doesn’t want his customers to get
overwhelmed by the ever-evolving products, platforms,
and specifications of technology design. Rather, Lynch,
the president of System 7, a company that provides home
technology, lighting, and shading, strives to keep it simple.
“Our approach is simplicity, reliability, and aesthetics,”
says Lynch. “Homeowners want the latest systems; they
want them to work well and look beautiful. Our job is to
understand the technology and to help homeowners find
what they need.”
System 7’s umbrella includes Wolfers Lighting and the
Boston Shade Company. Last spring, the company opened
an experience center at the Boston Design Center and
later this year, a new Wolfers Lighting showroom modeled
after the Boston space will open in Wellesley.
The centers are educational, not sales-oriented, explains
Lynch. In both locations, visitors can learn about how
technology works and how home systems can tie multiple
aspects together. They’re also able to glean insights
about different lighting concepts—such as human centric
lighting, which puts the focus on bringing the dynamics
of natural daylight back into people’s everyday lives—and
view a variety of motorized shading options.
“When people come to our experience center they meet
with a designer rather than a salesperson and that’s what
sets us apart,” says Lynch. “We are design professionals
one-hundred percent devoted to lighting, shading, and
home technology.”
