Nurses Association (MNA). I am a 20+ year member of MNA, and I believe
in the power of the nurse and of this organization.
I currently serve as Vice President of MNA and am very involved in many
aspects of our operations. I serve and have served in many leadership
positions throughout my career. With the pandemic starting to be behind
us, it was an honor to deploy with and lead teams with the National
Disaster Medical System (NDMS) to Federal Quarantine Stations in
Maryland and Wisconsin. We served in several roles from patient care
to infection control and hazmat. I have also served as the Chairperson of
the Faculty Organization at the UMMC School of Nursing for six years.
I bring 26 years of experience of nursing here in Mississippi. I have served
in several different levels at the State and national levels. I have worked
as a staff nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, and nurse practitioner and
I understand the issues facing us. I will work to try to solve issues and
move us forward. My objectives are as follows:
Objective 1: Ensure inclusion continues to be part of all aspects of MNA.
Objective 2: Continue to build on nurses being appointed and serving
on State and national boards and advisory committees, to ensure that the
voice of nursing can be heard, and our valuable input can be received.
