Traditional stationary origami<br />

Origami derives its<br />

name from <strong>the</strong> Japanese<br />

modern-day classroom for teach<strong>in</strong>g<br />

geometry, th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g skills, fractions,<br />

problem-solv<strong>in</strong>g, and fun science. It<br />

has been shown to improve spatial<br />

visualization skills us<strong>in</strong>g hands-on<br />

learn<strong>in</strong>g. Such skills allow children<br />

to comprehend, characterize, and<br />

construct <strong>the</strong>ir own vernacular<br />

for <strong>the</strong> world around <strong>the</strong>m. Today,<br />

origami has become a huge<br />

<strong>in</strong>spiration for a variety of fields<br />

such as medical appliances, and<br />

for architecture and aeronautical<br />

eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
