A word from the Principal...
Welcome,
We have made it! As I write, I can hear the fun and laughter coming from all of the classes as everyone
enjoys their Christmas parties.
It has been fantastic to welcome you back into the school and to share in our whole school events
over the past few weeks. We’ve held celebrations of learning, a nativity, Christingles and a Christmas
Fayre and all have been well attended and a pleasure to be part of. Not only does it bring us back together
as a school community, but these events provide vital experiences for our children to perform
in front of an audience, rehearse their performance and feel a sense of accomplishment afterwards.
We were delighted that the Government guidance encouraged nativities and school events to continue
as planned as it has enabled us to finish this term on a real high. I would also like to thank Canon
Nigel, who shares our ‘can do’ attitude and was determined that our Christingles should go ahead.
This brings me on to our FLS (Friends of Ludgvan School), led admirably by Gail Terry. Over the past
few weeks, they have organised and run an extraordinary list of events. We have had the Christmas
Fayre; visits from Santa; Elfridges providing presents for family; Squashbox Theatre entertaining the
children, a toy raffle and lovely decorations put up at the front of school. We are so lucky to have
such an active FLS and they enrich the experiences of our children hugely. As a small group, they
work incredibly hard, but many hands make light work, so if you would like to help our FLS, please
contact Gail on g.terry@ludgvan.cornwall.sch.uk
Finally, I would like to thank you all for your ongoing support and wish you a wonderful Christmas
and Happy New Year.
Kind regards,
Mr Adam Anderson
Principal

School Parliament Christmas Fun Run
Ludgvan School Parliament would like to thank everyone for taking part in our
Christmas Fun Run event.
The Early Years and Key Stage 1 children all took part in an hour of Christmas
themed activities designed and led by our parliament members. They were dancing,
jumping, bouncing, running, throwing and of course sweating throughout!
Our Key Stage 2 children took to the field to run a targeted amount of class laps
within an hour. Every class beat their target and went the extra mile!
Here are the results: Year 3 ran 200 laps, Year 4 ran 168, Year 5 ran 236 and Year
6 ran 221, making a total distance of 330km!
Well done to everyone that took part and if you haven’t donated yet, there is still
time to do so online via the Eduspot School Money app. We will let you know how
much we raised in the new year.
Merry Christmas from Ludgvan School Parliament
Thank you to those who supported our
sponsored read, we raised £623.10
