“Wa qaalat taa’i’fatun min ahlil’kitaab aaminoo billazee unzila alal’lazeena aamanoo<br />
waj’hannahaari wak’furoo aaqirahu la’Allaahum yar’ji’uun”.. [72]..<br />
72. And a group of the possessors of the Book said, “Believe during the day<br />
in that which is revealed on the believers, and reject it at its end (of the day) perhaps they (the<br />
believers) may return back (to their past religion).<br />

“Wa laa tu’mi’noo, illa liman tabi’a deenakum, qul innal’huda hudal’laahi, an yu’taa<br />
ahadun misla maa uutee’tum aow yuhaaj’jookum inda rabbikm, qul innal’fazla biyadil’laahi<br />
yu’teehi man yashaa’u, wal’laahu waa’siun aleem”. [73].<br />
73. “Do not believe except the one who follow your religion, say, “Surely guidance is the<br />
guidance of Allaah, being given to the one like that which is given to you or may dispute with you<br />
before your Nourisher, Say, “The grace is in the hand of Allaah, He gives it to whom He may desire,<br />
Allaah is Most Expansive, Possessor of all knowledge”.<br />

“Yaqtassu bi’rahmatihi man yashss’u, wal’’laahu zul’fazlil’azeem”. [74].<br />
74. “He specializes with His kindness to whom He may desire, and Allaah is the possessor of<br />
great favour”.<br />

“Wa min ahlil’kitaabi man in ta’man’hu bi’qantaarin yawaddihi ilaika wa minhum<br />
man in ta'man'hu bideerin laa yawaddihi ilaika illa maa dumta alaihi qaa’i’man, zaalika<br />
bi’annahum qaaloo laisa alaina fil’ummiyeena sabeeelun, wa yaqooloona alal’laahil’kaziba wa<br />
hum ya’lamoon”. [75].<br />
75. “And from the possessors of the book there are, if you keep with him quintals of gold, he will<br />
return it to you, and from them there are, if you keep with him even a dinar, he will not return it to<br />
you except you continuously stand upon him (demanding) that is because, they said, “There is<br />
nothing upon us, in the ignorant (Arabs) a way (responsibility), and they say falsehood upon Allaah<br />
the while they know it”.<br />
Quoting Sayeed Ibn Jubair, Ibn Katseer has recorded the saying of Rasoolullaah (SAS)<br />
wherein he said, “The customs of ignorance are all wiped out under my foot, but the deposits of<br />
even a dissolute should have to be returned”.<br />

“Balaa man aow’faa bi’ahdihi wat’taqaa, fa innal’laaha yuhibbul’ muttaqeen”. [76].<br />
76. “Why not, one who fulfill his promise and guard himself against evils, then surely Allaah<br />
loves those who guard themselves”.<br />
