I was a student of the palace myself and would love to recall the days spent there.I
especially remember the stories of 8-9th classes, when I first came to the Literature
Cabinet and met its brilliant chief - Fatsia Paichadze. She was not only a loving teacher
or an ordinary literator, but an amazing stateswoman as well. We felt unforgettable love
and care from her, reflected in our love for literature.With the special attitude she had,
she felt the individuality of each student and knew who to give right directions. She was a
great public figure, with the extremely modest personality. Professionals like her usually
stay in the shadow. That’s what she mentioned too - a great public figure may be taken by
the wind so quietly, that nobody understands… These are the words I remembered. She
was a great public figure, and I am sure many remember and reflect her effort in Tbilisi.
It was right in Fatsia’s office, where the cinema cabinet was founded too, and still
exists with the same old name “Pioneer Film.”Its first group was assembled by Mr.
Gulbaat Abelishvili, a director, extraordinary person and true patriot. Ms. Fatsia and
Mr. Gulbaat were both in chief of this club. The 11 member group of scriptwriters was
gathered. I was the scriptwriter and a director at the same time. We were traveling
around Georgia, captured a documentary in Makhinjauri. The current director of our
cabinet - Grigol Chigogidze was a cameraman then. We had an amazing group with
great understanding and interesting life
I am very grateful to the Palace, for being a real educational hub, and would love this
tradition to continue. I hardly remember any important person visiting Georgia, without
being a guest of the palace.It had extraordinarily qualified staff. The students learned to
dance, sing, paint, stabbing… In difference with the school, much free approach was used
here. Despite the terrible governing structure, we were given full freedom. I am extremely
happy with the fact that those students are glorious representatives of our country.
We felt such a freedom and happiness in the palace, as if we could make any of our
dreams true.And most importantly, it was the real educational and cultural hub, where
the patriotic coil was set up to become the fire! The palace was great!
