I would love that this place, just like the Kammerton, causing the entire beauty and
moving force of the Rustaveli Avenue, remains as a monument of material heritage, as
well as the hub of our national intellectual development.

The Youth Palace has played an important role in upbringing the whole generation, and
this is of course the merit of its staff. The classes were available literally for every field,
from science to culture and sports, The chess class was one of them, headed by the
honorous Georgian tutor Vakhtang Karseladze. It was him, who noticed me in Batumi,
where I was competing on behalf of Zugdidi team for the championship of Georgia.
Because of his request, my family let me to move to Tbilisi. I was under his own control
in this department for a year and a half or two. This was a unique place, where every
famous chess player gathered. After completing the courses, we still continued to visit
the Place to play 5 minute game. Actually this division wa a leader in Georgian Chess
field.
I hope the tradition goes on - and I mean not just the chess, but the Youth Palace,
always known for its attitude and brilliant tutors. All I am left with is to be grateful for
everyone who worked there.
There are two unique photos where Vakhtang Karseladze is standing between me
and Nana Aleksandria, holding his arms around us. It was his dream that one day, two
Georgians would compete in the final match of the world Championship.It seemed
funny then, but his dream actually came true.
