Separation. Solution. Success. Gea Westfalia Separator has been carrying out extensive restructuring measures for this purpose since the spring of 2008. The aim is to combine existing components of success together with streamlining of inflexible organisational structures. our parent company, Gea Group aktiengesellschaft, is supporting our efforts with an investment programme of approx. eUr 160 million, covering a period of three years in europe and asia. The key aspects of this programme are as follows: To boost efficiency at the German location in oelde by way of modernising and focusing production To restructure the french location château-Thierry and ensure that it becomes a worldwide service and maintenance centre with spare part production To establish a new production facility in china for complete separators and decanters To expand the existing assembly plant in India into a complete production plant for decanters and simple separators In order to support this programme, our market companies have also been given a new structure. We take account of the complexity on the world market by concentrating on two market companies and one production company. The new Gea Westfalia Separator process GmbH, consisting of the business units of the former Westfalia Separator food Tec GmbH and individual business units of Westfalia Separator Industry GmbH, will handle complex processes and individual process solutions, irrespective of whether this involves separators, decanters, process units or membrane technology. The other market company, namely Gea Westfalia Separator Systems GmbH, is being created out of the former business units of Westfalia Separator Mineraloil Systems GmbH and Westfalia Separator Umwelttechnik GmbH, and will mainly deal with volume-oriented applications, e.g. the mineral oil separators for the marine industry, as well as with environmental decanters and, in future, environmental separators. a further key restructuring measure comprises the creation of a production company which is independent from the sales companies. Gea Westfalia Separator production GmbH is now responsible for the worldwide production of separators, decanters and process installations. The aim of this restructuring process is to ensure that production is more modern, more rapid and more cost-effective and that it is placed as close as possible to our customers.
