Your report could actually help Police in ways you
never imagined. Identifying a victim of Modern
Slavery may add to intelligence on organised
people smuggling; the theft of a bike may be
related to County Lines drug crime; criminals
involved in one form of rural crime will frequently be
involved in other forms of criminality. And so on...
There is also a lot of information to help keep
residents informed on matters of crime prevention,
keeping safe on the Internet, and personal safety.
For those willing to give more time, Neighbourhood
Watch and Community Speedwatch help combat
two of the top concerns in our surveys, Burglary
and Speeding. Or how about volunteering with the
Forum?
Some will always argue “well, I pay my taxes, why
should it be up to me to give up my time in this
way?” To these, we make two points:
First, we live in the real world - Neighbourhood
Policing, and Thames Valley Police as a whole, will
never enjoy a level of funding to satisfy all possible
needs. And if they were, think how much higher
your taxes would be!

2022. These will inform setting of focus areas
for Neighbourhood Policing. We look forward
