COX
Thomas Leroy Cox, 74, of London died on March 23,
2022, in his residence. Born on June 7, 1947, he was a
son of Austin William and Mary Irene (Burns) Cox.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Tom had worked for
Westinghouse. Later, he worked as a truck driver, sign
installer, private investigator and most recently in security
at Restoration Hardware. He also was an avid
baseball fan, coaching little league baseball for many
years with the LABC and Plain City baseball leagues.
Survivors include: his wife, Sonya (Allen) Cox; son,
Tom (Valerie) Cox; grandson, Alex (Jessica) Cox;
brother, Roger Cox; sister, Virginia (Sid) Edwards; sister-in-law,
Linda Cox; many nieces, nephews, stepchildren,
and step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother,
Butch Cox; and sister-in-law, Rose Cox.
Public services were not observed per Tom’s wishes.

CURRY
Jerome Curry, 82, of West Jefferson, Ohio, joined his
beloved wife in Heaven on March 24, 2022, while at
Kemper House in Worthington. Born in Mingo County,
W.Va., to the late Lem and Irene Curry, Jerome graduated
from Matewan High School.
He married the love of his life, Brookie Curry, in
1962, and together raised their family in West Jefferson.
In addition to his parents, Jerome was preceded in
death by: his wife, Brookie, who passed in December
2021; his sister, Nancy Jane Deckard, and his brothers,
Jim Curry, Keith Blankenship, Bruce Blankenship and
Frank Blankenship.
Jerome is survived by: his sons, J.C. (Susan) Curry
and Scott (Robyn) Curry; his grandchildren, Jessica
(Matthew) Click, Rylie (Brandon) Herren and Addison
Curry; his great-grandchildren, River Click, Braelon
Herron, Juellz Herren and Kayne Herren; brothers and
sister, Arville Curry, Ronnie (Brenda) Curry, Denvil
(Roberta) Curry, Dorothy Justice, Pat (Teresa) Blankenship,
Michael (Sherry) Blankenship; the many other
loving members of the Curry, Blankenship and Davis
families; and by his many, many friends.
Jerome was a family man who supported his sons in
all of their endeavors. He loved to play poker, loved fishing,
enjoyed working on cars and anything mechanical,
and loved to play golf. The sparkle in Jerome’s eyes was
for his wonderful wife and his three beautiful granddaughters.
Despite all of his hobbies, his favorite activity
was spending time with his family.
Visitation and a funeral service were held on March
30 at Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home, West Jefferson.
Burial followed at Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson.

ADAMS
God blessed us with Judi Bussey Adams on April 26,
1946. Then He decided to take her home on March 25,
2022.
She was preceded in death by: first husband, Daniel
(Bill) Bussey; mother-in-law, Eileen Bussey; grandparents,
Earl and Eloda Jennings. Her grandparents raised
her in Caldwell, Ohio. She also was preceded in death
by: mother and stepfather, Erlene and Richard Critchfield;
cousin, Lance VanFleet; and her three fur babies
waiting for her at the rainbow bridge.
She is survived by: husband, Kay Adams Jr.; son,
David (Kim) Adams; granddaughter, Avery Adams;
step-granddaughters, Honor and Mercy Lackey; precious
fur baby, Zoe; cousins, Janet Nau, Richard Van-
Fleet, and numerous other cousins; sisters-in-law,
Connie (Walter Lee) Walsh and Donna (Steve) Holbrook;
and many nieces and nephews.
Judi attended Caldwell High School. She attended
The Ohio State University in 1964, graduated from
Columbus State Community College, and retired from
Doctors Hospital after 35-plus years as laboratory manager.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and camping.
Judi will be remembered as an angel on earth—
kind, loving and caring. Kay was so blessed to have her
in his life for 39 years. Kay loved Judi yesterday, will
love her today, and for however many tomorrows he has
left on earth.

RICE
Anna Marie Rice, 97, of West Jefferson, Ohio, went
to be with the Lord on March 27, 2022, at 5:33 a.m. from
her daughter’s residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Anna was born on Nov. 8, 1924, in Lewis County,
Ky., the daughter of the late Joseph and Ella Switzer
(Webster).
She retired from Capital Manufacturing. Anna was
a Sunday school teacher for many years at Church of
Christ in Christian Union in West Jefferson. Anna was
a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother
and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph
and Ella Switzer (Webster); her husband, Edwin Paul
Rice; her brothers, Raymond, Clarence “Coot”, Richard,
Ernie, and Allen Switzer; her sisters, Wilma Davis,
Frances “Frankie” Mofford and Mary Switzer.
Her survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law,
Frances “Jane” and George Kronk of West Jefferson;
grandchildren, Melissa “Missy” McDowell of West Jefferson,
Colleena “Moe” McDowell of West Jefferson,
Corinna “Cori” Cain of West Jefferson, LaShell “Shelley”
and Cary Lutz of Mount Gilead, Ashley Kronk of
West Jefferson, and Keshia and Joel Buckland of London,
Ohio; her great-grandchildren, Brittani Cain of
West Jefferson, Caleb Jones and Noah Kronk of Mount
Gilead; great-great-grandchildren, Hayes Smith, Sadie
and Kaliope Buckland of London, Naudia Garrett and
Miriam “Elizabeth” Collins of West Jefferson, Adelay
and Dehlilah Hayes of West Jefferson; and many
cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Peggy L. Moots, 65, of Lakeview, OH
passed away Monday morning, March 21, 2022,
at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH.
Peggy was born on June 3, 1956, in Columbus,
OH, a daughter of the late Daniel L. and Nancy
L. Henry Roby.
On November 20, 1995, Peggy married Keith
Moots in Lakeview and he survives. She is also
survived by four children, Amber (Mike Hampton) Lane of Jackson
Center, OH, Bryan (Lori) Moots of Bellefontaine, OH, Colton (Elizabeth
Allen) Moots of Columbus, OH, and CJ Moots of Lakeview, three
grandchildren, Anthony Roby, Cassie Hoffman, and Bostyn Moots,
and two siblings, Timothy (Christine) Roby of London, OH, and Sandra
(Andrea Bush) Roby of Sedalia, OH.
Peggy was a 1974 graduate of London High School. She worked at
Heartland of Indian Lake and the Universal Home Health and Hospice
Care until her retirement in 2007. Peggy enjoyed simple things in life
as the warmth of a sunny day, the calm of a rainy one, and caring for
others. She enjoyed cooking large meals, working cross-stitch and
crocheting. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and loved watching
Hallmark Christmas movies. Her greatest joy came from her family,
and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Shoffstall
Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview with visitation from 1-3 pm.
Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
