COX<br />
Thomas Leroy Cox, 74, of London died on March 23,<br />
<strong>2022</strong>, in his residence. Born on June 7, 1947, he was a<br />
son of Austin William and Mary Irene (Burns) Cox.<br />
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Tom had worked for<br />
Westinghouse. Later, he worked as a truck driver, sign<br />
installer, private investigator and most recently in security<br />
at Restoration Hardware. He also was an avid<br />
baseball fan, coaching little league baseball for many<br />
years with the LABC and Plain City baseball leagues.<br />
Survivors include: his wife, Sonya (Allen) Cox; son,<br />
Tom (Valerie) Cox; grandson, Alex (Jessica) Cox;<br />
brother, Roger Cox; sister, Virginia (Sid) Edwards; sister-in-law,<br />
Linda Cox; many nieces, nephews, stepchildren,<br />
and step-grandchildren.<br />
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother,<br />
Butch Cox; and sister-in-law, Rose Cox.<br />
Public services were not observed per Tom’s wishes.<br />

CURRY<br />
Jerome Curry, 82, of West Jefferson, Ohio, joined his<br />
beloved wife in Heaven on March 24, <strong>2022</strong>, while at<br />
Kemper House in Worthington. Born in Mingo County,<br />
W.Va., to the late Lem and Irene Curry, Jerome graduated<br />
from Matewan High School.<br />
He married the love of his life, Brookie Curry, in<br />
1962, and together raised their family in West Jefferson.<br />
In addition to his parents, Jerome was preceded in<br />
death by: his wife, Brookie, who passed in December<br />
2021; his sister, Nancy Jane Deckard, and his brothers,<br />
Jim Curry, Keith Blankenship, Bruce Blankenship and<br />
Frank Blankenship.<br />
Jerome is survived by: his sons, J.C. (Susan) Curry<br />
and Scott (Robyn) Curry; his grandchildren, Jessica<br />
(Matthew) Click, Rylie (Brandon) Herren and Addison<br />
Curry; his great-grandchildren, River Click, Braelon<br />
Herron, Juellz Herren and Kayne Herren; brothers and<br />
sister, Arville Curry, Ronnie (Brenda) Curry, Denvil<br />
(Roberta) Curry, Dorothy Justice, Pat (Teresa) Blankenship,<br />
Michael (Sherry) Blankenship; the many other<br />
loving members of the Curry, Blankenship and Davis<br />
families; and by his many, many friends.<br />
Jerome was a family man who supported his sons in<br />
all of their endeavors. He loved to play poker, loved fishing,<br />
enjoyed working on cars and anything mechanical,<br />
and loved to play golf. The sparkle in Jerome’s eyes was<br />
for his wonderful wife and his three beautiful granddaughters.<br />
Despite all of his hobbies, his favorite activity<br />
was spending time with his family.<br />
Visitation and a funeral service were held on March<br />
30 at Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home, West Jefferson.<br />
Burial followed at Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson.<br />

ADAMS<br />
God blessed us with Judi Bussey Adams on <strong>April</strong> 26,<br />
1946. Then He decided to take her home on March 25,<br />
<strong>2022</strong>.<br />
She was preceded in death by: first husband, Daniel<br />
(Bill) Bussey; mother-in-law, Eileen Bussey; grandparents,<br />
Earl and Eloda Jennings. Her grandparents raised<br />
her in Caldwell, Ohio. She also was preceded in death<br />
by: mother and stepfather, Erlene and Richard Critchfield;<br />
cousin, Lance VanFleet; and her three fur babies<br />
waiting for her at the rainbow bridge.<br />
She is survived by: husband, Kay Adams Jr.; son,<br />
David (Kim) Adams; granddaughter, Avery Adams;<br />
step-granddaughters, Honor and Mercy Lackey; precious<br />
fur baby, Zoe; cousins, Janet Nau, Richard Van-<br />
Fleet, and numerous other cousins; sisters-in-law,<br />
Connie (Walter Lee) Walsh and Donna (Steve) Holbrook;<br />
and many nieces and nephews.<br />
Judi attended Caldwell High School. She attended<br />
The Ohio State University in 1964, graduated from<br />
Columbus State Community College, and retired from<br />
Doctors Hospital after 35-plus years as laboratory manager.<br />
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and camping.<br />
Judi will be remembered as an angel on earth—<br />
kind, loving and caring. Kay was so blessed to have her<br />
in his life for 39 years. Kay loved Judi yesterday, will<br />
love her today, and for however many tomorrows he has<br />
left on earth.<br />

RICE<br />
Anna Marie Rice, 97, of West Jefferson, Ohio, went<br />
to be with the Lord on March 27, <strong>2022</strong>, at 5:33 a.m. from<br />
her daughter’s residence, surrounded by her loving family.<br />
Anna was born on Nov. 8, 1924, in Lewis County,<br />
Ky., the daughter of the late Joseph and Ella Switzer<br />
(Webster).<br />
She retired from Capital Manufacturing. Anna was<br />
a Sunday school teacher for many years at Church of<br />
Christ in Christian Union in West Jefferson. Anna was<br />
a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother<br />
and great-great-grandmother.<br />
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph<br />
and Ella Switzer (Webster); her husband, Edwin Paul<br />
Rice; her brothers, Raymond, Clarence “Coot”, Richard,<br />
Ernie, and Allen Switzer; her sisters, Wilma Davis,<br />
Frances “Frankie” Mofford and Mary Switzer.<br />
Her survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law,<br />
Frances “Jane” and George Kronk of West Jefferson;<br />
grandchildren, Melissa “Missy” McDowell of West Jefferson,<br />
Colleena “Moe” McDowell of West Jefferson,<br />
Corinna “Cori” Cain of West Jefferson, LaShell “Shelley”<br />
and Cary Lutz of Mount Gilead, Ashley Kronk of<br />
West Jefferson, and Keshia and Joel Buckland of London,<br />
Ohio; her great-grandchildren, Brittani Cain of<br />
West Jefferson, Caleb Jones and Noah Kronk of Mount<br />
Gilead; great-great-grandchildren, Hayes Smith, Sadie<br />
and Kaliope Buckland of London, Naudia Garrett and<br />
Miriam “Elizabeth” Collins of West Jefferson, Adelay<br />

Peggy L. Moots, 65, of Lakeview, OH<br />
passed away Monday morning, March 21, <strong>2022</strong>,<br />
at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH.<br />
Peggy was born on June 3, 1956, in Columbus,<br />
OH, a daughter of the late Daniel L. and Nancy<br />
L. Henry Roby.<br />
On November 20, 1995, Peggy married Keith<br />
Moots in Lakeview and he survives. She is also<br />
survived by four children, Amber (Mike Hampton) Lane of Jackson<br />
Center, OH, Bryan (Lori) Moots of Bellefontaine, OH, Colton (Elizabeth<br />
Allen) Moots of Columbus, OH, and CJ Moots of Lakeview, three<br />
grandchildren, Anthony Roby, Cassie Hoffman, and Bostyn Moots,<br />
and two siblings, Timothy (Christine) Roby of London, OH, and Sandra<br />
(Andrea Bush) Roby of Sedalia, OH.<br />
Peggy was a 1974 graduate of London High School. She worked at<br />
Heartland of Indian Lake and the Universal Home Health and Hospice<br />
Care until her retirement in 2007. Peggy enjoyed simple things in life<br />
as the warmth of a sunny day, the calm of a rainy one, and caring for<br />
others. She enjoyed cooking large meals, working cross-stitch and<br />
crocheting. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and loved watching<br />
Hallmark Christmas movies. Her greatest joy came from her family,<br />
and spending time with her children and grandchildren.<br />
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 27, <strong>2022</strong>, at Shoffstall<br />
Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview with visitation from 1-3 pm.<br />
Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.<br />
