Online
Virtual Reading
Kids of all ages can also practice reading skills, earn
service hours, and help animals at the same time by
participating in We’re All Ears…the virtual read to
the animals program. To date, more than 400 hours
of service, via one-on-one Zoom appointments, have
been provided through virtual reading.
At Home
Making Toys
Another option is to earn service hours from home
by crafting toys for the shelter's cats and dogs. Choose
from a variety of DIY projects to complete at home
and drop off at our campus. These toys help keep our
shelter pets healthy and happy.
Kindness Rock Garden
This project was created to lift others up through
simple acts of kindness. Our garden is outside our
Adoption Center under a beautiful palm tree. If a guest
or team member comes in and is not having a good
day, they can take one of our kindness rocks to make
them feel better. If someone has a friend that’s going
through a challenging time, they can share one of the
rocks with them. If someone is inspired by our garden,
they can help us
keep it growing by
painting rocks and
leaving them for
others. Earn 1 hour
for every five
rocks painted
and “planted”.
