The dazzling "Flower Festival" opens the way for the return of Madeira's celebrations in early May. Between May and June, the events calendar is packed with music festivals such as the "Aleste Festival" and "Aqui Acolá Festival", as well as international sporting events such as "Ultra Skyrunning Madeira", "Trans Madeira" and the "Canyoning Madeira Meeting". Laurissilva forest offers
the abundance of water,

than a hundred marked
and equipped routes.
Ribeira do Inferno (lower
part), located along the
Fajã do Rodrigues levada in São Vicente,
is the largest canyon on the island with
an extension of 3100 metres, 27 rappels
and a course lasting about 5 hours and
30 minutes, considered of moderate
difficulty.
