Novelos
9 Também apelidada de
Hortênsia, esta planta de porte
arbustivo é habitualmente avistada a
caminho das serras, nas bermas das
estradas regionais, pelo simples facto
de florescer idealmente em ambientes
húmidos sob luz indireta.
Uma curiosidade interessante
acerca dos Novelos é que as suas
pétalas têm a capacidade de mudar de
cor de acordo com o índice de acidez
e alcalinidade do solo. Quando o seu
solo atinge um estado ácido com pH
abaixo dos 6,5 surgem flores azuis, já
com um pH acima de 7,5 onde o solo se
torna alcalino, as pétalas atingem a cor
rosada e até branca.
Hydrangea
9 Known as Novelos, this
bushy plant is usually seen
along the roadsides on the way
to the mountains, for the simple
reason that it flourishes in humid
environments under indirect light.
An interesting curiosity about
the Novelos is that its petals have
the capacity to change colour
according to the acidity and
alkalinity index of the soil. When the
soil reaches an acidic state with a
pH below 6.5 blue flowers appear,
whereas with a pH above 7.5 where
the soil becomes alkaline, the
petals turn pinkish or even white.
