HELPING FABRICATORS GET AHEAD
Within the arched frame market it can often be difficult to envisage what the exact product
will look like before it’s been made, which can sometimes lead to misunderstandings between
fabricators and their customers. But thanks to a new full CAD service from arched and angled frame
manufacturer Premier Arches, customers can easily see beforehand exactly what they’re getting.
The company manufactures arched, angled, gable, circular and entirely bespoke windows and doors
in a range of systems, supplying to fabricators, installers and local builders across the UK.
Managing Director Sean Greenall commented: “One of our core principles at Premier Arches is to
provide a ‘make life easier’ offering to our customers, and one way we achieve this is through our
new free and professional CAD drawing service. This allows our customers to see exactly what they
are getting before the manufacturing process, and also enables them to in turn show their customers
what the finished frame will look like, thereby eliminating any confusion about the complex products
we offer. Our CAD service is beneficial to both our customers and our manufacturing team, allowing for designs to easily be changed if needed, and also making
it easier for our fabricators to collaborate with each other during the manufacturing process. In the long term, this will help our manufacturers work faster and
smarter, reduce production costs, and ultimately lead to quicker project completion.” www.premierarches.co.uk
PATIO DOOR MANUFACTURER CHOOSES DECEUNINCK
Patios Southwest has taken on Deceuninck as a single source for its PVC-U patio sliding
door profile, in a bid to manage quality and supply.
The Newton Abbot-based company had dual sourced for a number of years, but found that
increasing numbers of customers were moving over to the Slider 24+ system from Deceuninck
to benefit from a number of features on offer.
“Up until recently, Deceuninck increased its share of our customer base so that it accounted
for 95% of all the work we were doing,” General Manager Stuart Prior explained. “The key drivers
are the excellent colour offer and the industry-beating lead times. Deceuninck has more than 30
colours in stock, all ready to go. So even if we wanted something like Agate Grey we can order it
and get our products out of the door in two weeks.”
The final development that encouraged Patios Southwest to move to Deceuninck for 100% of
its patio sliding door profile was the introduction of the sculptured sash. “We had a handful of
customers who relied on a sculptured sash for some of their sales, so when Deceuninck introduced a sculptured sash earlier this year, the reasons for having
two systems running side by side disappeared,” Stuart said. www.deceuninck.co.uk
PROMAT UNVEILS THREE NEW FIRE DOOR DESIGNS
Passive fire protection systems specialist Promat UK has developed two new steel framed glazed
door systems and a timber door set to provide specifiers with assured fire safety solutions in
domestic, public and commercial buildings.
All three door sets are available in EI30 or EI60 specifications, which means they will retain their
integrity and provide effective insulation to protect people and assets in the event of a fire for either 30
or 60 minutes.
The new steel frame doors, PYROSEC Door and PYROSEC SLIMLITE, allow fire doors to be integrated
into fire resistance screens and partitions with ease. Both are designed to integrate with the Promat
SYSTEMGLAS Ferro fire resistant glazing system, which provides architects and specifiers with a complete
glazing solution backed by third party test evidence and Promat’s 360-degree ‘Wheel of Assurance’.
The new PYROSEC SLIMLITE door
The third new fire door from Promat, a timber door set, offers the same fire resistance as the two
PYROSEC options for applications where a traditional timber solution is required. It integrates seamlessly with the Promat SYSTEMGLAS Ligna glazing system,
which is widely used in all kinds of traditional and contemporary interiors.
