Sparkling at the Honeyfest<br />

Becky Mitchell, a <strong>Groveport</strong> artisan, helps her suncatchers grab a little sunshine<br />

and sparkle during the Lithopolis Honeyfest. The Honeyfest was held Sept. 9-10<br />

and featured bee beards, beekeepers, art, live music, honey bake-off, Ohio Honey<br />

Show, honey extracting, hive inspections, junior beekeeping, the American Honey<br />

Queen, honey, honey tasting, and more.<br />

Township tire drive<br />

Madison Township will hold a tire drive<br />

where residents of the township, Canal<br />

Winchester, and <strong>Groveport</strong> can recycle<br />

rimless junk tires - on Sept. 27 from 1-7<br />

p.m. at Brobst Park, 5321 Winchester Pike,<br />

Canal Winchester. No commercial vehicle<br />

tires will be accepted. Maximum of 10 tires<br />

per household. Bring your driver’s license<br />

or a utility bill for proof of residency. For<br />

Tire Sweep at Walnut Creek<br />

The city of Canal Winchester Storm<br />

Water Department will hold its 14th annual<br />

tire sweep and creek clean-up along<br />

Walnut Creek from 8-11 a.m. on Oct. 1.<br />

City staff will work with volunteers to<br />

remove tires in the Walnut Creek basin.<br />

Volunteers should meet at Walnut Woods<br />

Metro Park office, located at 6723<br />

Lithopolis Road, at 8 a.m. on Oct. 1.<br />

Snacks and refreshments will be provided<br />

for all volunteers, compliments of Park<br />

Manager Mindi McConnell. Canoes and<br />

kayaks are welcome or volunteers may<br />

wade through the creek. Tires will be collected<br />

rain or shine. No RSVP is required.<br />
