the Santaparade, which starts at<br />
1.30pm.<br />

Christmas excitement builds<br />
Kaiapoi’s Christmas celebrationday on<br />
December 3, is an iconic event,and Kaiapoi<br />
Promotions is excited abouteverythingit<br />
has to offer this year.<br />

Pinkham says it was guttingwhen last<br />
year’s event was cancelled due to Covid<br />
protocols, particularly as it had run for<br />
about70years.<br />
‘‘I think theremay have been one year<br />
during World War II that it was cancelled,’’<br />
he says. Support is pouring in for the Santa<br />
parade, and over 100 stallholders are<br />
attending.<br />
‘‘It is huge. It will be good to see everyone<br />
buzzingabout and enjoying what’s on<br />
offer,’’ Mr Pinkham says.<br />
An advertising campaign with NZME has<br />
helped raise awareness, and The Hits<br />
<strong>Canterbury</strong> will be broadcasting live in<br />
Kaiapoi on the day. He saysparents<br />
appreciate the Family Fun zone, where<br />
children can enjoy avarietyofactivities no<br />
cost.‘‘KPA is reallygratefultoits sponsors<br />
who helptomake that happen. They allow<br />
families to enjoy agreat day out.’’<br />
