state of the UK economy together
with regulation, legislation and
government policy relevant to
directors. Exclusive to IoD members,
it digests what has happened in the
last three months and gives you
insights into what is anticipated for
the months ahead.
Its contents are invaluable,
particularly when the economic
outlook is so unpredictable.
Following the publication of the
Q3 Directors’ Update, you are invited
to join Dr Roger Barker, IoD Director
of Policy and Corporate Governance,
and Kitty Ussher, IoD Chief
Economist at this members-only
event. Roger and Kitty will
summarise the report’s highlights
and answer your questions. Join us
on 17 January and get the inside
track on the economy.
In addition, on 6 February, there
will be another session, this time
focusing on the Bank of England
MPC report, due out on 2 February.

City of Edinburgh Council Chief
Executive, Andrew Kerr OBE for a
breakfast roundtable.
Born in Falkirk, Andrew Kerr began
his career with the town’s District
Council. His 35-year public sector
career has since included over three
years at Birmingham City Council,
where he led the national awardwinning
Birmingham BEST
organisational development
programme.
He was appointed Chief Executive
of City of Edinburgh Council in 2015
and has since led the council with a
focus in recent years on resilience
during a challenging period. We’ll
hear from Andrew on his thoughts
on Edinburgh’s business
engagement with a Q&A roundtable
breakfast.
