MORRISON<br />
Willia Dean Morrison, 77, of West Jefferson, Ohio,<br />
passed away on Dec. 9, <strong>2022</strong>. She was born on Sept. 23,<br />
1945, to the late Frank Willard and Louise (Evans)<br />
Grubbs.<br />
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Frank<br />
Willard and Louise (Evans) Grubbs; sister, Patsy (Bill)<br />
Berkley; and grandchildren, Devin Beasley and Miranda<br />
Williams.<br />
On the weekends, you could find Willia out with her<br />
daughter and granddaughter looking for bargains at the<br />
thrift store and garage sales. She loved old westerns and<br />
murder mysteries. She was a loving pet mom to her dog,<br />
Lucy, and cats, Delilah and Blackie. Willia took pride<br />
in the relationship she had with her neighbors. The<br />
neighbors cared deeply for her and referred to her as the<br />
neighborhood grandma.<br />
She is survived by: her daughters, Deanna (Randy)<br />
Otis and Samantha (Chuck) Cribbs; son, Larry<br />
(Tammy) Williams; nine grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren;<br />
and numerous other relatives and<br />
friends who all loved her dearly.<br />
The family would like to say a special thanks to Rebecca<br />
Williams, Deana Harper, Danielle Olson, Samantha<br />
Cribbs, Keegan Barber, and the wonderful staff<br />
from Ohio Health Hospice for their loving support and<br />
help during the past two months and for the loving care<br />
they gave to Willia.<br />
No formal services are scheduled at this time. Burial<br />
of Willia’s ashes will take place at a later date at Hampton<br />
Cemetery, West Jefferson. Please consider making<br />
a memorial donation in Willia’s name to the Humane<br />
Society of <strong>Madison</strong> County.<br />

BARNETT<br />
James Howard Barnett, 65, of West Jefferson, Ohio,<br />
passed away on Dec. 10, <strong>2022</strong>. He was a member of<br />
Trinity United Methodist Church, Lilly Chapel, Ohio, a<br />
graduate of West High School, and a member of Carpenters<br />
Union Local 200.<br />
Jim was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time<br />
at their place in Catawba Island, Lake Erie, Ohio. He<br />
was a member of the Central Ohio Anglers and Hunters<br />
Club, West Jefferson. What he loved most was his family<br />
and riding his Harley Davidson Softail.<br />
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ralph and<br />
Louise Barnett; his loving wife, Pauleen Barnett (2021);<br />
and his fur babies, Max, Rosie, and Lilly.<br />
Jim is survived by: daughters, Angela Napper, Misty<br />
(Mike) Roush, Jamie Barnett, and Keyaria Barnett;<br />
brother, Michael (Diana) Barnett; sisters, Judy (Pete)<br />
Spearing and Shirley Barbour; grandchildren, Brooklyn<br />
Lyndsey, Maddison, Michael, Kaylee, Courtney, and<br />
Thomas James; five great-grandchildren; and many loving<br />
relatives, special friends, and fur babies, Buck and<br />
Daisy.<br />
The family received friends on Dec. 14 and held a funeral<br />
service on Dec. 15 at Trinity United Methodist<br />
Church, London, Ohio. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill<br />
Cemetery, West Jefferson.<br />

FOOTE<br />
Bonnie Jean Foote, 78, of Plain City died on Dec. 10,<br />
<strong>2022</strong>, in Laurels of West Columbus. Born on March 23,<br />
1944, in Muncie, Ind., she was the daughter of B. Eugene<br />
and Mary Ruth (May) Brown. Bonnie had worked<br />
as an associate for Discover Card.<br />
Survivors are: her children, John R. Foote Jr., Thom<br />
Foote, Kristi Foote and Tami (Lisa) Puckett; and several<br />
cousins.<br />
She was preceded in death by her parents.<br />
Per Bonnie’s request, visitation and funeral services<br />
did not take place. Memorials in Bonnie’s name may be<br />

GREGG<br />
Betty Louise (Smith) Gregg, 73, of London went to be<br />
with the Lord on Dec. 10, <strong>2022</strong>, at The Cleveland Clinic<br />
in Cleveland, Ohio.<br />
Born in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, on April 19, 1949, she<br />
was a daughter of Guy W. and Martha Cleo (Mossbarger)<br />
Smith.<br />
Betty was a woman of strong faith and a 50-plus year<br />
member of London Church of the Nazarene. She was a<br />
loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and sweet<br />
friend to all with whom she crossed paths. She had<br />
worked at the former Stumps, Rinks, and K-Mart stores<br />
in London and babysat many children over the years.<br />
She leaves behind: her daughter and son-in-law,<br />
Brenda Lou (Gregg) and Jimmy Hollar; grandson, Jacob<br />
Hollar; sister, Nancy (Frank) Powell; sister-in-law,<br />
Linda Little; nieces and nephews, Marcy (Mike) Colley,<br />
Charles Powell (Jennifer), Holly Murry, David (Julie)<br />
Smith, Geri Smith, Dan Smith, Tony (Joelle) Gregg and<br />
Bobby Puckett; many great-nieces, great-nephews,<br />
cousins, and loving friends and family.<br />
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband<br />
of 37 years, William “Bill” Ira Gregg; son, Will “Willy”<br />
Richard Gregg; brothers and sisters, Oliver “Smitty”<br />
Smith, Catherine “Katie” Jones and Jim Smith.<br />
Funeral services were held on Dec. 16 at London<br />
Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Russ Fairbanks officiating.<br />
Interment followed in Kirkwood Cemetery, London.<br />

WOODFORD<br />
John Carl Woodford, 51, of West Jefferson, Ohio,<br />
passed away at home on Dec. 10, <strong>2022</strong>. Born in Columbus,<br />
Ohio, to Beverly and the late James C. Woodford,<br />
John was a graduate of West Jefferson High School,<br />
Class of 1989. He was employed by Olympus Communications<br />
as their project estimator/coordinator for the<br />
past 16 years.<br />
He is survived by: his daughter, McKayle Woodford;<br />
mother, Beverly Woodford; brother and sister-in-law,<br />
Tom and Jenny Woodford; nieces, Taylor (Elliot) Taylor<br />
and Paige Woodford; McKayle’s mother, Bridget Farley;<br />
and many friends.<br />
Visitation was held on Dec. 15 and the funeral service<br />
was held on Dec. 16, both at Rader-McDonald-Tidd<br />
Funeral Home, West Jefferson. Pastor Phil Conrad officiated<br />
the funeral service. Burial followed at Hampton<br />
Cemetery, West Jefferson.<br />

Dale Henry, 55, of Urbana passed<br />
away on Friday, <strong>December</strong> 9, <strong>2022</strong>, in Springfield<br />
Regional Hospital.<br />
Dale was born November 8, 1967, in London,<br />
Ohio the son of Karen (Davis) and James Henry.<br />
Dale was a 1986 graduate of Urbana High<br />
School. Following graduation, Dale worked as<br />
a truck driver throughout the years and was a<br />
member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #979.<br />
In his free time, Dale was an avid Ohio State<br />
Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan. Dale also<br />
loved to play poker, go bowling, and just have<br />
Dale is survived by his father; a daughter, Jessica (Nick) Gaugert; sons, Tyler<br />
Henry, Matthew (Elizabeth) Henry and Wade (Sarah) Bodey; sister, Jennifer<br />
(Steven) Rittenhouse; grandchildren, Baker and Reid Henry, Theodore<br />
Gaugert, Kaiden, Jayce, Lyam and Jaxon Bodey; stepfather Richard Holden;<br />
as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.<br />
Dale is preceded in death by his mother, and the mother of his children, Lisa.<br />

Eileen Gossard, age 91, passed away on Wednesday,<br />
<strong>December</strong> 7, <strong>2022</strong>. Eileen was born on June 21, 1931 in South Solon,<br />
Ohio to the late Harry and Clara Theobald. She is survived by her<br />
children, Mark (Sheryl) Gossard and Laura (Matthew) Stepp, grandchildren;<br />
Blake (Crystal) Gossard and Benjamin (Hannah) Stepp; and<br />
great grandchildren: Kaylyn and Roland Gossard. Eileen is preceded<br />
in death by her loving husband of 66 years, John Robert Gossard,<br />
and sister, Nevelyn Knisley. Eileen graduated from Stokes Township<br />
High School and later went on to graduate Cum Laude from<br />
Wittenberg University with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts. She was a<br />
member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. Eileen married John Robert<br />
Gossard on September 20, 1953. She was employed at the Springfield<br />
News Sun as a society editor, then later taught adult and<br />
children's art classes in her home. She also taught a gifted art<br />
program at Stokes Township and Midway School. Eileen was a<br />
member of South Solon Christian Fellowship, deaconess, and a<br />
member of the Washington Courthouse Christian Women’s Club.<br />
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the<br />
family at South Solon Cemetery with Pastor John Crutchfield officiating.<br />
