Finally, two bulls sold for the next
highest price of 14,000gns. The first
to reach this price was another from
the herd of D E Evans – 19-month-old
MAERDY ROCKYROAD. Rockyroad
is also out of a Maerdy Dynamite
daughter, Maerdy Gigi. His sire is
Maerdy Jakstar, a French-born bull
who has gone on to perform very well
within the Maerdy herd. Winning the
bid for this young bull was Kier & Son
from Alford, Aberdeenshire.
Also reaching a final price of 14,000gns
was one of the youngest bulls forward
for sale, 16-month-old HARESTONE
ROBROY from R & N Barclay. Robroy is
a half-brother to the day’s top priced
bull, having also been sired by the
23,000gns Goldies Oasis. Meanwhile
his dam is Harestone Lovejoy, a
daughter of former Stirling Supreme
Champion Thrunton Fearless. Robroy
will be making the journey over to
Thurles, Co. Tipperary, under the care
of winning bidder Dovea Genetics.
