Blacklick Park and the flag<br />
Thank you to Rick Palsgrove for his<br />
interesting article, “<strong>Groveport</strong>’s first city<br />
park,” published in the Feb. 12 <strong>Groveport</strong><br />
<strong>Messenger</strong> about the history of <strong>Groveport</strong>’s<br />
Blacklick Park and for including Mack<br />
Harris’s efforts to have a flag there. It<br />
brought sweet memories of his raising and<br />
lowering the flag and folding it precisely<br />
often with the help of grandchildren. That<br />
lead to the city’s parks commission<br />
installing lighted flagpoles in all of parks.<br />

Never too late to be great<br />
I have stage four kidney disease. I go to<br />
dialysis three times a week. My pancreas<br />
stopped working in November 2022. I wear<br />
a insulin pump every day. I need both a<br />
kidney and pancreas. I was once very<br />
involved in my southside community by<br />
being a educator and a recreation leader. I<br />
had to quit due to my health condition. I<br />
want to find a match for me, but to do so I<br />
must find someone who has become a<br />
organ donor. I encourage every one to<br />
become a organ donor. So many can be<br />
saved or preserved by doing so. Blood,<br />
marrow, living organs are always needed.<br />
It’s never to late to be great. By donating<br />
life through organs you will be great.<br />
