PRELUDE Volume IX

The young homeowners’ ties to the fashion industry
inspired the concept of a walk-in closet that would display
favorite wardrobe pieces. Reminiscent of high-end retail,
peek-through cabinetry offers an elegant solution for
a chic display. Barqawi worked alongside WoodCraft
Millwork to design the long and narrow set of closet
doors that draw the eye up, creating the illusion of higher
ceilings. The clean and sophisticated feel is bolstered by
Barqawi’s subtle use of texture and decorative elements.
“We wanted to add a little bit of movement throughout
the space to offset the harsh lines,” says Barqawi. Crown
moldings, luxurious leather-wrapped hardware, ribbed
globe lights, and a textured rug add depth and softness
to the space.
Qualities of modern luxury illuminate the bathroom and
vanity space. Dolomite marble flows seamlessly from floor
to ceiling, creating a lustrous backdrop for the vanity.
Sleek stained white oak push-to-open shelving, custom
crafted by WoodCraft Millwork, adds an element of
warmth against the cool-toned materials, serene pops of
blue, and chrome fixtures. Barqawi collaborated with Top
