Jeremy Watmuff President nmrrcpresident@gmail.com Greetings and Happy Spring! Depending on where you live around the country I am sure you are excited for brighter sunny days ahead. Where I live in Michigan we were very fortunate this winter. We had a what I would consider as a very mild winter. I am however looking forward to longer days and better conception rates in the barn. I hope you all are having great luck breeding in preparation for the 100 Annual ARBA National Convention in Louisville. As you may have read in last quarters NMRRC Newsletter, the legendary Doug King has decided to step down from his board position as secretary. I am saddened by this news as I am not sure I recall a time where Doug and I were not on the board together. I would like to thank Doug for his many years of service to the NMRRC and look forward to his continued involvement and support relaxing in the show room as an exhibitor. On the other hand, it is an exciting time for the club as we welcome a new energized secretary with new ideas to the board. Congratulations and Welcome to Bridget Forman on her new appointment as secretary of the NMRRC. Bridget will continue to use nmrrcsecretary@gmail.com to manage club business. In any organization the leadership is often looking at succession planning and the NMRRC is no different. As you just read Doug King has stepped down as the NMRRC Secretary. Ethan Harvill has also decided to take a step back as District Director as he works to finish up his schooling. Mark Charles our current Vice President has offered to take the District 6 Director in which will open the position of Vice President. As I look forward and think about my future within the organization, I know my time as President at some point will come to an end. When that time comes we need to be prepared as an organization to have someone in line that is interested in taking on the office of President. With that being said, I am looking for an involved member that is interested in taking on the office of Vice President with the intention of becoming President in the future. If this is of interest to you please let me know so we can discuss further. We are always looking for members to get involved. Please reach out if you are interested in serving on a committee or if you would like to learn more about running for office. We are just weeks away from our annual national show in Columbus Ohio. The entry portal is open. The portal can be used to enter rabbits and purchase banquet tickets. I am excited once again for our awards from PM Graphix. If you are in the market for awards look them up! PM-Graphix.com. The Ohio Mini Convention has decided to hold a double all breed show on Saturday. The NMRRC would highly encourage you to NOT enter the OSRBA shows on Saturday. National show judging will take priority and any rabbits not in their coops will be scratched from the show. National show classes will not be held up due to animals showing in OSRBA. OSRBA is also a carrying case show this year with the option to coop. NMRRC National and Specialty show animals have cooping included in your entry fee. You do not need to reserve coops through OSRBA.
