EDITORIAL SNIPPET: In his ‘BUSH
TELEGRAPH’ editorial notes, QPR club
secretary Ron Phillips wrote: ‘This editorial
had to be written well before the Easter
holiday at a time when our promotion
prospects looked excellent but were still
unconfirmed. Lacking a time machine,
therefore, it is impossible for us to do
justice to the promotion situation in this
editorial. If we made it over Easter, well,
have a good time this evening. If promotion
is still in the balance (which seems
incredible from where we are sitting!) never
will so many bitten fingernails and crossed
fingers be assembled in one stadium as
they will tonight. (In this connection the
presents you receive from the team before
the match may either be construed as
promotion souvenirs or Easter Holiday
mementoes!)

visit another league club, open their
programme and find them rubbing in the
details of how they defeated Rangers 5-0
or 7-2 at the beginning of the century.
This evening, however, finds us playing the
same trick, but our reasons for doing so

Brighton at Kensal Rise on 2nd September,
