after playing an expert wall pass with fellow R’s
loanee Daniel Parejo.
Then on 83 minutes, Lee Cook and Angelo
Balanta combined to set up Ledesma for another
emphatic finish.
R’s assistant manager Tim Flowers said
afterwards: “Ledesma is a very gifted kid. He pops
up in areas where he can hurt other teams.
“He is still learning and my only concern is that it
might turn out to be a long, arduous season for
him in the Championship.”

Times newspaper described Ledesma’s
wonderful trio against Carlisle United: “QPR
surged into the third round of the League Cup for
only the second time in 13 years. The Argentine
prodigy tore through the visitors’ defence and
found the net on three occasions in a sumptuous,
match-winning second half display, each goal
better than the last.”
In total, the midfielder made 15 starts for QPR
and eight substitute appearances, scoring four
goals during that year-long loan. Apart from the
picturesque hat-trick, his only other strike came in
our 2-0 home win against Doncaster Rovers.
Now aged 34, Ledesma has been a football
journeyman in recent years. Most recently in
July 2022, he moved from USL Championship
club Indy Eleven in the United States to join AC
Barnechea of the Chile League Primera B.
