How did you get scouted?
Through my district team as my coach
was a QPR scout. From there I had a trial and
was signed.
What are your strengths as a player and what
do you need to work on?
My strength is my passing ability and I would say
I need to work on my physicality.
What’s it been like to be around the first team
and even being named on the bench?
It’s been a great experience. Learning from the
players and to be named as a substitute on a
couple of occasions has felt great!
How did you find out you had been awarded a
call-up to the Iraq national team?
It was a great honour when I received my first
call-up to the senior team (against Mexico and
Ecuador in November). I found out through
(Academy director) Alex Carroll and it was an
extremely proud moment for me and my family.
Which stadium in the world would you most like
to play in and why?
If there was any stadium I would want to play in,
it would be Anfield because Liverpool were my
childhood team.
Who’s your favourite player or inspiration?
My favourite player would be Steven Gerrard.
The way he used to carry his team and do both
sides of the game was what I loved about him.
Who’s had the greatest influence on your
career so far and why?
My parents, as they have always pushed
and supported me within everything I have
wanted to do.
