Broad and Balanced...
Year 3
Year 3 ended the spring term with an amazing residential trip to Coverack. The
children embraced the soggy start exploring Penrose Walk and Coverack. On
day two we visited the Eden project and learnt where our food comes from. On
our final day we visited Roskilly’s Farm and discovered how ice cream is made.
Of course we had to sample the ice cream before we came home!
The summer term has started well and the children have already visited Truro
museum to launch their new Egyptian topic. At the museum the children learnt
how to be Egyptian embalmers and they explored some Egyptian artefacts.
Since returning from our trip we have learnt more about the discovery of
Tutankamun’s tomb. They children used Beebot’s to travel through the
floorplan of the tomb and have started to make their own Tutankamun’s death
masks. They have also had great fun learning about the River Nile and they
have made their own board games to share facts about how it was used in ancient
times and how it is used today.
Well done Year 3, a great start to the summer term.
