Add in a totally dominant display at Wembley in completely outplaying EFL League 1 champions, Plymouth Argyle, to win the Papa Johns Trophy and it’s safe to say that this season has been a memorable one – this time for the right reasons! However, the job isn’t finished yet and the lads need each and every one of us proud Wanderers to get behind the team today. There is no doubt that our club is now owned and operated on the basis that the supporters matter and, on behalf of ALL BWFC fans worldwide, the trust give thanks to Sharon, Nick and Michael for their vision and planning since they took control of a distressed football club in late 2019. Since the signing of the MoU with the club in August ‘21, your trust has played a major part in the current levels of positivity that exist at the University of Bolton Stadium as evidenced by the recent EFL Fan Engagement Award acknowledging the fact that we have the best fan engagement of all the 72 EFL clubs – a massive achievement! What we now need to do is to grow the trust membership to ensure as many BWFC fans as possible make use of that positive relationship. Achievements of the trust over the last couple of years have been immense. These include: • Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding • Renewal of the Asset of Community Value listing on the stadium • Consultation with the club on ticket pricing • Establishment of the Fanzone, including the naming of the Dave Higson Bar • Growing the trust affiliate membership numbers • Involvement in Safety Advisory Group meetings • Input into the recent official BWFC supporters survey • Sponsorship of the recent Supporter of the Season Award • Wembley coach service to assist with the fantastic response from fans • Various trust members competitions including a Wembley photo comp judged by Stelios We would like to appeal to all BWFC fans that aren’t yet trust members to join and add to the strength of the current relationship with OUR club. For the equivalent of 19p per week, your membership will contribute to making the fans voice as strong as possible and give YOU the chance to influence how that relationship develops to the benefit of BWFC. www.bwfc.co.uk The Wanderer | 37
