OUR WINDOW
HAS NO ANALOGS
IN THE WORLD.
OUR
WINDOW
IS UNIQUE.
Unlike ordinary curtains,
it uses the space between
the parallel panes of the
window. After a mechanical
rotation, the space gets
filled with an opaque
substance of glass beads
and small homogeneous
granite flakes.
When it comes to “green production” and energy
conservation, we can state that our curtain created
with glass beads is definitely more environmentally
green and energy-saving than all other curtains. There are
incomparably less natural or artificial raw materials and energy
spent on its manufacturing and operation than in any other
case. Glass beads are made of recycled materials. Our curtain
does not need to be washed or ironed, which means that
electrical or physical energy is not consumed, energy is limited
only by the Earth’s gravity. In this regard, it is a real “champion”
among existing competitors.
At the international level, our product first appeared in
2019 in Geneva at the Palexpo exhibition. The presented
prototype caused a lot of positive emotions among attendees.
In Switzerland, we also took the first steps in the search for
international partners.
After the Geneva International Exhibition in 2019, we were
able to improve dramatically. With the help of Georgian
and foreign contractors, simple details are individually
manufactured for us in different countries from different
materials.
The product we are presenting at Houston Build Expo
— June 28-29, 2023 was invented in 2015 by Georgian
businessman and scientist Ivane Chkhaidze and his partner
Gogi Chechelashvili. The first patent was granted in 2015 in
the Republic of Georgia. We have also patented the product in
Japan, China and India. In addition, we are waiting for patents
in Europe and in the USA.
Our window is unique and has no analogs in the world. Unlike
ordinary curtains, it uses the space between the parallel panes
of the window. After a mechanical rotation, the space gets filled
with glass beads, thus playing the role of curtains.
Without an offensive posture
determined to save your
company money, economic
insecurities, supply chain
disruptions, and managing
a challenging workforce can
influence companies to be
more reactive, adjusting to
the ever-changing rules and
guidelines. Now is the time
to be proactive, but most
business owners cannot
invest the hours to become
a financial expert and stay
current with the latest tax
strategies.
RICHARD RODGERS
Founder – Dannah
Investment Group LLC
1. Drop in sales of 50% from 2019 to 2020 or a 20% decline by quarter for the first 3 quarters
of 2019 compared to 2021.
2. A business disruption caused by a governmental mandate. This second method is the area that
our tax attorney qualifies most construction companies as eligible. If you have been
told that you don’t qualify as a construction company, it is worth a call to explain
why you might.
3. Rethink Health Insurance
The American Healthcare Act has afforded the creation of programs beneficial
to both the employer and the employee. These unique health insurance plans
incorporate healthy lifestyle strategies that can make you as a business owner
approximately $500 per employee per year. In addition, employees can save
up to $1,800 per year by participating in the healthy lifestyle campaign. We
help connect you to partners who manage all the details and allow you to add
this benefit without changing the quality of care or even changing insurance
companies.
Businesses need a partner whose primary
focus is to make companies more profitable.
This can be accomplished through
operational, insurance and tax strategies
by minimizing your income tax so you can
maximize your working capital to strengthen
your company. We want to share 6 strategies
you should consider to increase profitability
at your construction company:
1. Conduct a Utility Audit
A utility audit company can get you refunded
for past overcharges while also saving on
future bills. They will look back three years
on your utility bills and determine if you
have any bills you should not be paying. On
average, 80-95% of companies qualify for a
refund. They will also do an annual review
for the next three years to help you find any
additional savings.
2. Apply for the Employee Retention Credit
Employee Retention Credits (ERC) came
out the same time as Paycheck Protection
Program (PPP) loans as an incentive program
to help stimulate the economy during the
pandemic. Originally, you could choose
either a PPP loan or ERC. At the end of 2020,
Congress decided you could get both, as long
as you back out the money received from
your PPP loan employee forgiveness as well
as other requirements. There are two ways to
qualify for the ERC:
4. Eliminate Credit Card Charges
Credit card fees are changing dramatically. We can help you reduce or eliminate your credit
card fees by using a merchant processing platform that lowers your monthly merchant credit
card processing fee by up to 15-20%. You can also provide a potential rebate to each customer,
putting money back in their pocket directly after each sale.
5. Be Proactive with Tax Planning
Tax planning is not planning how much tax you have to pay; tax planning is planning on how
to minimize your tax liability by utilizing tax strategies. We can help you reduce your adjusted
gross income through charitable strategies and tax-deductible investments. This is a more
customized approach and is worth a conversation.
6. Defer Your Capital Gains
If you are selling your company at any point, you could be facing substantial capital gains. We have
strategies to defer capital gains, thereby enabling you to earn investment income on what you
would otherwise pay in taxes. We can also increase FDIC limits on cash balances above $1 million.
To give you an idea on the cost savings if you took advantage of these strategies, we have
included a sample Texas Construction Company with potential savings.
Fictitious Texas Construction Company
50 Employees Monthly credit card sales: $100,000 Utility costs: $20,000
Texas Construction Company
Strategy 1: Utility Audit Savings $24,000
Strategy 2: Credit Card Savings $42,000
Strategy 3: ERC Savings $756,000
Strategy 4: Health Insurance Savings $25,000
Strategy 5: Tax Planning Savings $285,392
Aggregate Savings: $1,132,392
As you can see, there are substantial savings in each strategy that your company could capitalize
on. All of these strategies require no up-front cost to you, other than your time. By shifting to an
offensive posture, you could save your company hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Remodeler and home builder owners are in a season of
work where they have a choice: see the next generation
as a hindrance with excuses like “they won’t work”, or to
see this new generation as an opportunity to pivot with a
renewed mindset like “I’m excited to see how they own the
mission!”
There is a shortage of workers for the old-school
methodologies but there is not a shortage of people willing
to work…towards the right mission.
This life-changing and engaging keynote pulls from our
work with hundreds of owners and gets you on the path to
building a powerhouse team.
You will be equipped to beat chaos with predictability, and
to build a business that brings stability, life, and time for
what matters most.
Thursday, June 29 | 11:15 a.m.-12:15p.m.
Keynote Area
People, people, people! How do we find the right people to
hire? How do we find ANY people to hire?
The Boomers retired early, and the emerging generations
you find the right people, recruit them the right way, share
the right vision, and then onboard them the right way that
aligns with the right mission?
Re-imagine the business of your contracting firm with
this engaging keynote talk drawing from our work with
hundreds of contractor owners that led to our proprietary
and proven road map.
This road map will equip you to beat chaos with
predictability, and to build the team that will build the
business to make time for what matters most.
Learning Objectives
deep work and flow that we want but can’t see to find
Selling Thru a Tough Economy
Wednesday, June 28 | 1:15 p.m.-2:15p.m.
Keynote Area
We’re seeing volatile pricing formats, supply chain
interruption and rising interest rates. This usually ends
in tough economic conditions, resulting in construction
industry challenges. Knowing the best way to stay ahead of
these changes and keep your business moving forward is
difficult. We’ll look at the methods successful contractors
use to weather shifting economic conditions. We’ll cover:
1. Increasing your portion of the market pie
2. Getting a competitive advantage
3. Managing customer expectations
4. Structuring your sales effort
5. How to balance sales and marketing efforts
You’ll come away from this session with a better
The culture of your business is a DIRECT RESULT of the
ingredients that you allow to enter into the building. Good
ingredients equal good culture, and vice versa. Culture is
more than ping pong tables and bean bag chairs. Culture is
about relationships, connection, and communication.
Culture will determine the joy that we find in running our
business. We all want a great culture, and we know we have
to work for it…but how? Most strategies include a crossyour-fingers
approach.
This fun and surprising workshop will remove the confusion
around great culture and provide you with the action and
clarity you need to build a culture that you are proud of and
that all generations want to be a part of.
Learning Objectives
1. Clarify the elements of great culture, and identify
distracting elements of bad culture so you can focus on
the elements of great culture
2. Walk away with a one page visual of building great culture
Pella Corporation recently made two
significant acquisitions: Bonelli and WinDor.
These additions further enhance Pella’s already
extensive portfolio, allowing homeowners
and builders to choose from a wider range of
window and door options. Whether it’s the
timeless elegance of a single-hung window,
the functionality of a sliding patio door, or
the contemporary appeal of a bi-fold door,
Pella has a solution to suit every style and
preference.
Pella’s commitment even extends to their
industry-leading limited lifetime warranty,
ensuring that builders can reduce callbacks
after completion, and homeowners are taken
care of for years to come.
Houston Home Builders Pick
Pella for Innovative Products
and Exclusive Support
Houston’s booming housing market is
creating a crunch for builders who
specialize in custom and semi-custom
homes, sending them searching for
suppliers and partners who understand
the unique challenges of the industry.
One of the most important materials a
builder sources for a homeowner is the
windows and doors — a product that has
the potential to make or break a timeline,
budget, or customer confidence.
That’s why more and more builders are turning
to Pella Products of Houston for solutions
that serve their homeowner’s needs. “We’re
committed to providing an exceptional
experience for builders and finding new ways
to make their work easier,” said Agnes Smithey,
new ownership partner at Pella Products of
Houston.
Agnes and Eric Smithey joined Principal Owner
Michael Reed at Pella Products of Houston
in 2021, bringing 30+ years of industry
experience to the team. Since then they have
rolled out a new program for builders that
includes training and support through the
exclusive Pella Certified Contractor Program,
as well as white-glove service at the job site.
In addition to its existing product lineup, Pella
Corporation recently made two significant
acquisitions: Bonelli and WinDor. These
additions further enhance Pella’s already
extensive portfolio, allowing homeowners and
builders to choose from an even wider range
of window and door options. Whether it’s the
timeless elegance of a single-hung window,
the functionality of a sliding patio door, or
the contemporary appeal of a bi-fold door,
Pella has a solution to suit every style and
preference.
Pella Products of Houston has seen significant
demand for its products and services, and
its new experience center delivers. Visitors
can explore a wide range of Pella products,
including windows and doors of various styles
and designs - displaying exceptional design
and craftsmanship from single and doublehung
windows to patio doors, casement and
awning windows, multi-slides, bi-fold doors
and windows, hinge doors, and pivot doors.
It is also a space where clients can meet with
the Pella team, ensuring personalized attention
and tailored solutions.
“We often hear that our state-of-the-art
experience center is a game changer for
our builders,” said Smithey. “Giving your
homeowner a hands-on experience with the
window and door selection builds trust in
the products you’re putting in their home –
and puts them in the driver’s seat during the
selection process. So, they really understand
how important their windows and doors are to
loving their home for the long haul.”
Proper installation is critical to performance,
and Pella also offers professional installation
services for single-family new construction,
helping to alleviate labor shortage challenges
for builders and ensuring a quality installation.
HOMEBUILDING INDUSTRY
By AIMEE BERTRAND
The Greater Houston Builders
Association (GHBA) welcomes you to
the Houston Build Expo! Our region
has one of the fastest growing housing
markets in the country and the GHBA is the
largest home builders’ association in Texas.
GHBA’s more than 1,600 member companies
not only consist of residential home builders,
but also residential land developers,
remodelers, engineers, subcontractors, and
vendors, all affiliated with the home building
industry.
But why should you become a GHBA
member? I’ve got six great reasons for you:
Strength in Numbers:
3-in-1 Membership
When you join the GHBA, you also become a
member of the Texas Association of Builders
(TAB) and the National Association of Home
Builders (NAHB). This benefit brings members
the best of all worlds — local networking and
resources, along with access to invaluable
state and national information and privileges.
TAB has nearly 10,000 members across
the state. NAHB has 140,000 members
nationwide.
to statewide tax issues, to federal safety
regulation, your membership gives you a
voice at city hall, the Texas Capitol, and
in Washington, D.C. Successful advocacy
efforts by GHBA, TAB and NAHB have
saved individual builders and home buyers
thousands of dollars per home each year.
Collectively, these savings exceed several
billion dollars and directly affect your
business’ bottom line.
Expand your professional network
Membership affords you opportunities to
increase business and connect with other
construction industry professionals. Bring
awareness to your company and learn
what your peers are doing. Events include
traditional membership luncheons, afterhours
mixers, golf tournaments, educational
events, and more. GHBA hosts more than
200 events annually. The GHBA has the
largest Remodelers Council, the largest
Sales & Marketing Council, and the largest
Professional Women in Building Council in
the National Association of Home Builders.
Our membership also includes the Custom
Builders Council, Bay Area Builders Division
and Northern Counties Builders & Developers
Division.
These groups meet regularly, hold educational
luncheons, provide material to GHBA
members through online and in-person
learning, host networking events and dedicate
time and resources to GHBA charities,
including Operation Finally Home and
HomeAid Houston.
Members-only discounts
You can easily cover the cost of your
membership by taking advantage of discount
programs offered by your local, state and
national associations on products and services
that you use everyday, from insurance to
office supplies to building supplies.
Build the future of our workforce
As our members have dealt with labor
shortages, GHBA has worked to build
collaborations with education, training and
employer partners, to ensure that we don’t
lose students in homebuilding education
programs to other industries. In 2022,
Houston became home to the BuildStrong
Academy, powered by the Home Builders
Institute, where students can learn skills
to gain employment in construction jobs
for FREE. GHBA has also created a free
job board for members to post their open
positions at www.ghba.org/careers-inconstruction.
In partnership with our members, the
GHBA continues its mission to interact with
government, the community, and the general
public to enhance the business climate for its
members, and to provide quality, attainable
housing to the community it serves. Come
join the GHBA and you will get more than
you give to the industry…and have a great
time doing it!
Please visit www.ghba.org for more information on
opportunities for education and networking at the
GHBA. We look forward to building a GREATER
