Hepatocytes<br />
Primary human hepatocytes are the main cells in the liver,<br />
characterized by their cubical shape and abundant smooth<br />
endoplasmic reticulum. They exhibit eosinophilic cytoplasm,<br />
basophilic stippling, and round nuclei with dispersed chromatin.<br />
Hepatocytes form plates separated by sinusoids, which have<br />
fenestrated endothelial linings and are supported by reticulin.<br />
Kupffer cells and stellate cells are present in the sinusoids,<br />
performing phagocytosis and storing vitamin A, respectively.<br />
These hepatocytes “gold standard” for in vitro hepatic assays such<br />
as Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK). When<br />
choosing our primary human hepatocytes, you gain access to<br />
extensive donor information and large lot sizes of up to 1000 vials.<br />
The hepatocytes are evaluated for critical inductions such as<br />
CYP1A2, CYP2B6, and CYP3A4, and their metabolic activity is<br />
assessed for various essential enzymes which includes CYP450<br />
enzymes (1A2, 2B6, 2C8, 2C9, 2C19, 2D6, 3A), ECOD, SULT,<br />
UGT, and AO. The cells are available in plateable, suspension, and<br />
spheroid-qualified forms.<br />
By selecting these hepatocytes, you can explore the intricacies of liver function with confidence.<br />
With exceptional post-thaw viability (>85%) this allows for the study of xenobiotic metabolism,<br />
liver toxicity, cell biology, and host-pathogen interactions in a cost-effective manner.<br />
