Request a Free Tree for Your Parkway by August 15th
Did you know? The City of Elgin has a program available to residents where they can request a free tree be
planted in their parkway. The parkway is the area between the sidewalk and street. Elgin's free tree planting
program was developed to sustain our neighborhood forests and provide value to properties.
The city opens the application twice per year, once in the spring and once in the fall. The city will have 500
trees available for the program this year. This program is first-come first-served, so make sure to submit your
application early.
Visit cityofelgin.org/treeplanting to view the list of species selected for this year and fill out the tree bank
request and tree selection form.
Deadline to apply for Fall Planting: August 15
