International, a manufacturer of high-pressure hoses for large original equipment manufacturers and distributors, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in business. Schieffer opened in Peosta, Iowa in 1998 with just six employees in a 12,000-square-foot facility. In the two and a half decades since, the company has changed its name and expanded exponentially. Now known as ProPulse, a Schieffer Company, it employs 130 and utilizes 130,000 square feet of space. It officially celebrated its silver anniversary in March 2023. “25 years is a long time,” said Jeff Theis, President and CEO of ProPulse, “but I believe ‘blink of an eye’ is appropriate when describing our journey.” During this ‘blink of an eye,’ ProPulse built expansions, acquired land, and invested into new manufacturing automation opportunities. Over the last 25 years, the hose manufacturer transitioned from a small hose distributor to a mid-sized hose manufacturer who supplies major original equipment manufacturers across the country. In 2021, ProPulse added 20,000 square feet of manufacturing space to the production facility, allowing it to invest in industry leading hose manufacturing technology. The two-year expansion on production facilities resulted in what company officials call the most modern and advanced thermoplastic hose extrusion process in the United States. Much of ProPulse’s success stems from their ability to uphold customer satisfaction, which in turn allows them to consecutively increase sales year over year. “We say what we are going to do, and we do it on-time, every time,” said Theis. That customer-focused mindset isn’t going away anytime soon, according to Theis. “ProPulse will always be known as a company that keeps its commitments to our customers,” said Theis. Customer satisfaction isn’t the only legacy ProPulse plans to uphold. Backed by German manufacturing from their partners at Schieffer International Group, ProPulse is carrying on generations of manufacturing excellence. New automation will allow the Iowa manufacturer to dive into new product markets and build upon their current products. “We will continue to fill out our line of thermoplastic hoses and challenge new markets,” said Theis. ProPulse’s focus on customer-communication, innovation, delivery, and quality has allowed them to expand at a rapid rate for consecutive years. The hose manufacturer plans to continue its legacy of growth into the next 25 years of business and beyond. Kleaning Up Last summer, Krystal Klean, a building care company, announced it had finalized its acquisition of Under Pressure Washing, a Bradenton, Florida -based commercial pressure washing company that serves the Sarasota area. It was the 108th acquisition for Krystal Klean, which is part of the U.S. organization FleetWash. Terms weren’t disclosed. The Jacksonville-based company was founded in 1996 by Brian and Leatt Lipker. Now, with more than 135 employees that serve more than 10,000 clients, Krystal Klean is looking to continue expanding through more acquisitions. "If you have a cleaning or coating business with annual revenues between $200,000 and $200 million,” Jeremy Morgan of Krystal Klean says, “we'd like to talk." Go West, Young Man!
