PC/Windows skills.<br />

Excel skills are a must for most positions<br />

in today’s challenging job market. Learn<br />

the fundamentals of Excel 2007 such as:<br />

formatting, printing, charting/graphs,<br />

calculations and built-in functions. Use<br />

this powerful spreadsheet as a database for<br />

organizing large quantities of information,<br />

to print labels for your cards or mailings, or<br />

as a tool to balance your checkbook! In-class<br />

practice time is included. Class size limited to<br />

12 students. No class February 18.<br />

Explore the fun world of photo editing. Learn to correct<br />

images that are too dark/light or which are slightly out of<br />

focus. Clone parts of one photo onto another or eliminate<br />

that distracting item from the background of your photo.<br />

We will incorporate multiple photos into projects and utilize<br />

photo frames, text and elements. Class size limited to 12<br />

students.<br />

MAC COMPUTERS<br />

PODCAST THE POSSIBILITIES<br />

Instructor: Mark Taylor, KMVT<br />

Prequisite: Familiarity with computers and the internet. A<br />

familiarity with audio and video files, and XML coding would be<br />

helpful.<br />

Learn how a podcast is developed from episode creation to<br />

viewer downloads. A practice podcast will be created, with<br />

student participation, then broadcast during the class. Sample<br />

materials will be available to attendees who bring a flash<br />

drive. The instructor is a media specialist with a background<br />

in television production, web design, Photography and Visual<br />

Effects. He currently teaches classes at KMVT in Mountain<br />

View, an affiliated station of the Midpeninsula Community<br />

Media Center.<br />

Instructor: Julio Navarette<br />

Prequisite: Basic computer use and understanding.<br />

Learn about different types of blogs, create your own blog<br />

and begin posting original written work in Spanish and/or<br />

English. Perform writing exercises, and have opportunities<br />

to share personal stories and unique experiences in creative<br />

ways. If you have always wanted to express yourself to a<br />

broad audience, this is a class for you. The instructor is the<br />

creative writing coordinator at Educators for Fair<br />

Consideration (E4FC). He has a degree in Radio, Television<br />

and Film.<br />
