An exhibition of modern artworksand
handcrafteditemsusing traditional
woodwork and photographic skills, will be
held in Kaikoura from September 13 to 17.
The Uniquely DrivenExhibition features
worksbyphotographer SusieBaker, and
localwoodworker, CullenSmith, at the
Pink Shed, Fyffe House.
The techniquesthe two artistsuse
connect the historyofearly industrythe
firstEuropeansbrought to this area
around 180 years ago.
The exhibition entwines this history
NC SPORTS RESULTS
with the use of art, and focuses on their
artisan skills.
Smithlearnthis furniture and
wheelwrightskillsfrom his father,and
continues to put his talent into practice by
making contemporaryand unique
furniture, and woodwork items.
Susie, an alternative photographer, has
been exhibiting and working with
historical processes for over 20 years.
The exhibition, which coincideswith the
KaikouraHop, is openfrom 10am to 4pm
and entry is free.
