Spring into learning at Risingholme
The change in season comes with a
chance to reflect, reset, and perhaps try
something new!
Whether you’ve been thinking about
picking up a craft, a new hobby, or are
keen to upskill with an eye towards
taking the next step in your career,
Risingholme Learning offers a range
of workshops and short courses to suit
your needs and goals. Our courses cater
to a range of interests and give you the
chance to try something new in a relaxed
environment guided by our experienced
subject tutors.
Delivered across four locations in
Christchurch and developed with a
range of abilities in mind, our courses
are open to anyone aged 16 and over
who is not currently at school, regardless
of educational background.
Enrolments are now open for Term 4
and we have several new workshops and
courses available to sign up to, including
a four-week course based at Hornby
High School centred around digital
storytelling. Everyone has a story to tell,
and in an increasingly digital world there
are many tools available to help bring
these stories to life. Come learn how to
unpack the process of storytelling from
start to finish using common digital
applications. The final term of the year
also brings the lead up to the summer
social season and Christmas. In our
‘Making Felted Jewellery’ weekend
workshop you’ll make wearable art that
you can proudly show off (or gift) to
friends and family. It’s open to anyone
new to felting and keen to learn as well
as more experienced felters wanting to
develop their repertoire.
For those interested in life drawing
with a slight twist, we run a life drawing
in costume course led by a tutor whose
background in theatre and textile
design makes her the perfect guide
for learning to sketch both form and
fabric in a friendly and supportive
