SPORT<br />
Almost 500 pupils from across the South<br />
Island participated in the ninth edition of<br />
the <strong>Selwyn</strong> Sport Trust’s Koru Games last<br />
week.<br />
The three-day event saw 468 year 7 and<br />
8 pupils from 78 schools compete in 18<br />
different sports across the district.<br />
The Koru Games provides participation<br />
and competition for intermediate-aged<br />
pupils, with a focus on building friendships<br />
and fair play.<br />
Lincoln’s Ararira Springs was the inaugural<br />
winner of the John F. Reid Memorial Trophy,<br />
which is presented to the school that best<br />
demonstrates the ethos of fair play.<br />
