for the first time,and celebrated its
inauguralentrance intothe event witha
large contingent of winners,finalists and
supportersatthe Gala dinner at
MainPowerStadium, attended by 371
people.
Kaikōura tookawaynot only the
SupremeAward buttwo category awards
and threerunner up awards.
Enterprise NorthCanterbury hosted
the awards,and MilesDalton, business
supportmanagersays the amount of joy
and mutual support seenonFriday
evening ‘‘showsusexactlywhy we do it’’.
‘‘Eventhose that did not win have given
lovelyfeedback about howthe process
has helped them improvehow they
operate,’’ he says.
He alsoobserved achangeindrinking
patterns.
‘‘Weordereddouble the usual amount
of non­alcoholicbeverages this time,and
theywere gonehalfway through the
night.’’
MasterofCeremonies,Jackie Clarke,
ensured everyoneenjoyed not only the
evening,but also her comedicwit,and
beautiful voice,particularly as shesung
Bohemian Rhapsody. Her
professionalismensured the event ran
smoothly,with laughter, opportunities to
chatbetween courses,and dancing.
