KATZ is located in the middle of the Black Forest and was established in 1716. The first automated production line for coasters was built in 1903.<br />
We are the world-market leader for coasters and are proud to service our customers around the globe for more than 100 years.<br />
Since 2009, KATZ is part of the Koehler Group, a family owned company in 8th generation that produces specialty paper.<br />
KATZ Coasters: High Impact Brand Awareness – directly at<br />
the point of purchase<br />
With a wide variety of customized shapes, designs and fi nishing options, the coaster<br />
is a very affective and valuable marketing tool ensuring our 470 customers in 80<br />
countries create strong brand awareness all over the world.<br />
Coasters are effective directly at the Point of Purchase, where consumers are<br />
able to engage with brands as they relax with friends and enjoy drinks. Coasters<br />
provide the ideal Interaction and engagement of brands with the consumer over<br />
an extended period whilst also been an important sustainable and functional part<br />
of the brand’s POS portfolio.<br />
Coasters Made From Wood Pulp: Quality and Sustainability<br />
go Hand-in-Hand<br />
We use only locally sourced certifi ed wood from accredited sources for<br />
manufacturing our coasters. This is considered as waste-wood, a bi product as<br />
a result of forest maintenance and the primary use of the wood such as building<br />
material. Thanks to our closed water cycle, we save 2 billion liters of water per<br />
year compared to paper and board mills not using closed water cycle technology.<br />
We generate up to 42% of the energy used in our manufacturing process’s<br />
using our water turbine generators, combined with our heat recovery system.<br />
This amounts to 1,620 households annual energy consumption.<br />
KATZ coasters can be used multiple times. Once given back into the paper recycling stream, it can be recycled 7 times for the use as premium-material,<br />
such as high-end folding box board for pharmaceuticals, before it will be downgraded for the use as e.g. tissue paper.<br />
