Printmaking Explorations
This class will offer a variety of printmaking techniques
to engage students in the magical world of printmaking,
using safer practices and less toxic materials and methods.
Throughout the course, we’ll explore block printing
(relief), silkscreen, and lithography. Each class will have
instruction and studio time for students to pursue their
individual interests. No experience necessary, the only
requirement is enthusiasm! Experienced printmakers
welcome.
Practical Beginning Flower
Arranging
Gain practical experience in making beautiful flower arrangements
for your own home. Learn some beginning
western floral design compositions while also gaining
practice in picking out your own materials and working
with your own vases. My goal is to have you leaving this
course with the confidence to make arrangements you
would be proud to call your own.
Materials fee of $25 payable to instructor.
Please bring to class: latex/nitrile gloves in your size,
apron, sketchbook & pencil, drawings, photographs or
other image reference materials. Printmaking paper is
available for purchase at the Art Center (Rives BFK for $6
for 22x30” sheet) or you can bring your own.

Visual Storytelling: Creating and
Publishing a Graphic Novel
In this class students will experience the excitement of
creating and publishing a collaborative graphic novel!
Learn how to develop a memorable story, applying
the fundamentals of visual storytelling: storyboarding,
thumbnailing, character design, picture composition,
camera angles, layout, etc. Additional topics include
narrative art techniques, book layout, cover design,
promotion, and publishing. Participants collaborate to
organize their individual stories into a cohesive digital
graphic novel followed by an exhibition in the Art Center
Studio Gallery.
Students may use the traditional media of their choice
or digital tools (must bring own laptop/tablet). All levels
welcome.

Continual Floral Design
Previous experience with floral design necessary. Each
week there will be an arrangement concept and
students will bring their own materials*. Students may
take this class to continue practicing and learning, or
just as an excuse to play with flowers and have
something to take home each week for your home.
*If a student wishes to have me purchase materials
there will be a materials fee based on the class in
question.
