2024 N EW SMYRNA BEACH AREA VISITORS GUIDE
Welcome
I’m thrilled to welcome you—or welcome
you back—to the New Smyrna Beach Area.
The appeal of our lovely town goes far
deeper than our 17 miles of white sand
beach and highly rated surfing. Cuttingedge
cuisine, a nationally recognized arts
scene, beloved hotels, and historical ruins
are just the beginning of the adventure.
With the ocean on one side, the Intracoastal
Waterway on the other, and all kinds of
exciting sustainability efforts in between,
our cozy city offers the perfect getaway—
whether you’re interested in relaxing on
the beach or discovering a new passion.
We can’t wait for you to experience
New Smyrna Beach for yourself.
By Plane
No less than five international airports
in the area make getting here a breeze:
Daytona Beach (18 miles away); Orlando
Sanford (30 miles); Orlando (60 miles); Orlando
Melbourne (74 miles); and Jacksonville (118 miles).
Coming by private aircraft? The New Smyrna Beach
Municipal Airport is just 2 miles outside town.
By Car
Motoring along mighty Interstate 95?
Take exit 249; the New Smyrna Beach
Area is just a few miles east. From
Interstate 4, take exit 118. And U.S. Highway 1, also
known as “Old Dixie Highway,” leads you straight
into downtown and the Historic District.
By Train
Hit the rails with or without your car
on the Amtrak Auto Train, which runs
between Florida and the Washington,
D.C. area. Disembark at Sanford, Florida, about
35 miles west of New Smyrna Beach; it’s an easy
drive into town.
By Bus
Greyhound stops in nearby Daytona
Beach, and the Volusia County bus
service (Votran) provides local commuter
service from there. Take the #4, #7, or #12 to
Port Orange and the #40 into New Smyrna Beach.
By Boat
Floating the Intracoastal Waterway
or sailing in from far-flung waters?
Dock at the New Smyrna Marina
(ICW channel marker #35) or the New Smyrna
Beach City Marina (ICW channel marker #38).
