JIMMY LANE
A local legend, Jimmy Lane is behind the
Jimmy Lane Surfing Academy, one of NSB’s
oldest and most respected surf schools,
founded almost 40 years ago after Lane
retired from the pro circuit. Lane’s surf camp
programs and coaching have led participants
to become pros themselves–some graduates
even return to teach with Lane. He’s also a
certified surfing judge and an artist who has
painted thousands of surfboards and murals
in the local community and beyond. An
active member of the local community, he
is especially involved with The New Smyrna
Beach Museum of East Coast Surfing at the
New Smyrna Beach Museum of History.
