Amann Girrbach releases Ceramill
Map FX, new 3D desktop scanner
Amann Girrbach has launched the Ceramill
Map FX, a new lab scanner which aims to
offer high precision with short scanning
times and maximum versatility.
The Ceramill Map FX scanner is said to
operate with precision and repeatability
while keeping scanning times short. To
ensure safe and efficient processes, the
Ceramill Map FX is fully integrated into
the digital workflow and its compact
dimensions allows the scanner to be
integrated into lab environment where
space is limited.
Two comprehensive upgrade options allow
the scanner to be expanded to meet the
specific needs of the user. The basic version
of the Ceramill Map FX provides the user
with entry-level digitisation at an attractive
price/performance ratio. With its
modular design, the system is reportedly
future-proof and can be expanded and
upgraded at any time.
In addition to basic prosthetic and
orthodontic indications, advanced
scanning options are also included in the
enhancements. All variants offer high
precision with short scanning times. For
example, the optional HD scan achieves
an accuracy of up to 4µm, and scanning
options such as impression scanning or
‘multidie’ offer maximum convenience.
All common CAD/CAM systems can be
connected via an open interface such as
.STL and .PLY file types.

BUSCH launches COOL-DIAMANT
and XTi-cut line of cutting instruments
BUSCH has released the COOL-DIAMANT
Instrument with optimised coolant flow,
its product in the diamond segment
which aims to provides more expedient
preparation. The grinding performance
reduces the treatment time needed, thus
benefiting the practitioner as well as the
patient.
The many diagonal cooling grooves
interrupt the grinding process up to
seven times per rotation which provides
additional support for the coolant spray
and the removal chip.
The continuous diamond coating even in
the deeper grooves ensures great and easy
grinding performance, facilitates removal
thanks to the edge effect around the groove
transitions and optimises the service life.
COOL-DIAMANT Instruments are coated
with pure gold. This fully covers the
nickel bonding layer and enhances tissue
compatibility. The COOL-DIAMANT range
comprises 124 application-oriented variants
in coarse, medium and fine diamond grit.
Titanium is a difficult material to work with
using conventional cutters. The penetration
resistance can
only be overcome
inadequately,
with an
undesirable
build-up of heat
leading to oxidation on the surface of the
material. BUSCH offers carbide cutters
with XTi-cut for such applications.
The instruments with cross-cut have a
slight right-hand twist in the guide cutters
and are characterised by deep chip spaces.
In this way, the penetration resistance
can be overcome with considerably less
generated heat. Users can choose from 10
instruments in different shapes and sizes
specific to the respective applications. DA
