Ackuretta upgrades ALPHA AI to
simplify 3D-printing workflows
Ackuretta has announced a series of
upgrades to its ALPHA AI slicing software
aimed at simplifying dental 3D printing
workflows for users.
With the new ALPHA AI Premium, users
can now take advantage of auto-orientation
and AI generated support building with
upgraded features including three new
compatible applications — denture
base, denture teeth, and removable die.
These upgraded features are in addition
to previously added compatible dental
applications including hollow/solid model,
splint, crown, bridge, and surgical guide.
The upgrade also provides users the ability
to access ALPHA AI on four devices at the
same time.
Furthermore, new users are now able
to sign up for ALPHA AI Premium with
a brand new 2-year subscription option
matching the Ackuretta SOL’s extended
warranty length available via Ackuretta
Concierge. New users will now also get
an extra month free after signing up for a
1-year or 2-year subscription.
By making orientation, stacking, nesting,
supports, and .STL file export for nine
compatible applications easier, ALPHA
AI is said to increase the print success
rate, thereby increasing productivity,
time, and resource savings. Its capabilities
and integration with the Ackuretta 3D
Printing Solution also makes it easy for
practitioners to delegate with no resource
intensive design training needed.
The company further cited ‘incorrect
orientation’ as the cause of 75% of failed
prints. ALPHA AI Premium aims to reduce
this rate with its auto-orientation which
allows users to orient an application, add
AI-generated supports, and save the file
in .STL, .I3DP, or .IBF format for export to
their dental 3D printer. ALPHA AI’s workflow
is designed for users to import their file,
choose the 3D printer and resin used, select
the desired layer thickness, before orienting
and adding supports to the application, and
then slicing it to be ready for printing. DA
Pearlie White and NDCS unveils new mouth
rinse, developed from research study on SARS-
CoV-2 virus
A study from the National Dental Centre
Singapore (NDCS) on the efficacy of mouth
rinses in reducing the SARS CoV-2 virus
during the COVID-19 pandemic has led to
the development of an antiseptic mouth
rinse with anti-viral properties. The new
product is named Pearlie White Defenze
Antiseptic Fluoride Mouth Rinse and
was developed by NDCS in partnership
with Singaporean oral care brand Pearlie
White, highlighting the innovation of
public-industry partnerships which brings
together medical research with commercial
expertise.
“Inspiration for this research first
originated from my volunteer work at
the migrant workers’ dormitory during
the height of the pandemic in 2020. I am
elated we were able to rapidly progress
the study to achieve this unique mouth
rinse formulation with the vast industry
experience from Pearlie White,” said

Assoc Prof Jaya first conducted a
randomised clinical trial in 2020 to study
the efficacy of mouth rinses on reducing
the salivary SARS CoV-2, which showed
that Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC)
formulated commercial mouth rinses
effectively suppress the salivary SARS-
CoV-2 levels within five minutes of use and
sustain for up to six hours after use.
The alcohol-free antiseptic formulation
contains a combination of anti-viral and
plaque fighting ingredients, including CPC,
fluoride, xylitol and zinc gluconate. It is
also enhanced with natural ingredients
such as echinacea, chamomile, cinnamon,
honeysuckle, licorice, myrrh, sage, and tea
tree oil. It is dermatologically tested and
safe for daily use.
Following the results of the study, NDCS
partnered with Pearlie White to develop a
unique formulation of a topical antiseptic
mouth rinse with anti-viral properties.
The formulation brings together expertise
in oral health research and deep industry
knowledge and experience. Assoc Prof
Jaya and his team will be furthering their
study with a clinical trial based on the new
