Developed and directed by some of the top high school band<br />
teachers in Ottawa, this highly specialized program offers<br />
campers an opportunity to learn something new or to improve<br />
on a current instrument. Take your place on stage and perform<br />
at a special concert with fellow campers on Friday.<br />
WHY JOIN BAND CAMP?<br />
• <strong>Camp</strong>ers receive approximately 3 hours/day of small group instruction<br />

week of camp courtesy of Musicare, Inc, Carlsbad Springs
YOUR TEACHERS<br />
Nick Roy<br />
Nick Roy is an instrumental music teacher and band<br />
director at Merivale High School in the OCDSB. Beginning<br />
as a high school student in 2007, Nick was a founding<br />
staff member of <strong>Dovercourt</strong>'s <strong>Band</strong> <strong>Camp</strong>, and is thrilled<br />
to now be in charge of the program. As an educator, Nick<br />
has had the pleasure of providing many learning and<br />
performing opportunities elsewhere in the community;<br />
he currently sits on the executive committee of Capital<br />
Region MusicFest, and directs a jazz ensemble for adult<br />
learners with the Ottawa New Horizons <strong>Band</strong> program.<br />
His school ensembles have consistently performed at<br />
high levels of ability, including receiving invitations to<br />
MusicFest Canada's National Festival.<br />
Meghan Heeney<br />
Meghan is an instrumental music teacher and band<br />
director in the OCDSB. Meghan has worked with various<br />
music programs in the Ottawa area, showcasing her<br />
versatility by successfully leading diverse ensembles at<br />
Canterbury High School and Osgoode Township High<br />
School including concert bands, jazz bands, saxophone<br />
quartets, and senior saxophone ensembles. Meghan's<br />
commitment to excellence is evident in her ensembles'<br />
numerous performance opportunities, including<br />
collaborations with the Carleton University Saxophone<br />
Faculty, participation in the Capital Region Musicfest, as<br />
well as the Queen's University Dan <strong>Band</strong> Festival.<br />
Beyond the classroom, Meghan has been serving as the<br />
Administrative Director of the Carleton University Jazz<br />
<strong>Camp</strong> since 2013. Her dedication to fostering the next<br />
generation of jazz musicians is evident through her<br />
direction of beginner jazz ensembles during the annual<br />
all-ages camp.
