46 pools with nearly 2,500 fish from oceans,
seas, lakes and rivers around the world. 1,000
sqm in the Museum’s rooms is dedicated to
wildlife diversity.

or consulted on site. Exchanges and meetings
take pride of place. You can also take part in
activities, work, study or just relax there.
A land of frescoes

Since 2002, the walls of the city of Liège have
been open to artistic expression.
Through the Paliss’art project, the City has
worked to ensure contemporary art decorates
its walls.
Paliss’art has organised over ninety frescoes
across the Liège region and invited over one
hundred and fifty artists with very different
styles, who use a variety of techniques on
media as varied as construction hoarding,
gable walls, blind frontages, and electrical
cabinets...
In 2019, a mysterious moustachioed
character appeared on the side gables
of two buildings on the Quai de la Boverie,
along the Dérivation canal.

Théâtre de Liège
Theatrical centre of the Wallonia Brussels
Federation and European centre for theatrical
and choreographic creation. With its 65,000
spectators and the curtain raised more than
250 times for 40 to 60 performances each
season, the Théâtre de Liège is today the
Leading Stage in Wallonia.
This first monumental diptych fresco,
‘l’Homme de la Meuse’ or ‘Man of the
Meuse’ by Sozyone, covers 1,200 sqm.
The stage presents shows by major
Belgian and foreign directors and
choreographers, with internationally
renowned actors (Isabelle Huppert,
Mélanie Laurent, Emmanuelle Béart, Toni
Servillo, Denis Podalydès, etc.) as well
as emerging artists, convey the culture
of today and are ambassadors for
tomorrow’s culture.

Culture vouchers
Launched in 2020 by the City of Liège Culture
Department, the ‘Culture Vouchers’ initiative
aims to make culture accessible to young
people in Liège aged 4 to 21.
The contribution is limited to 100 euros per
child and per cultural season starting on 1
September and ending on 31 August of the
following year.

They may be used for many activities such
as music, dance or theatre lessons, creative
workshops, shows and courses.
