NEXT STOP LIÈGE | Open & Student orientated page - 47 A few specific features The Léon Mignon secondary school provides four sections, all unique in Belgium : engraving, jewellery, horology, fine mechanics and armoury. It is the only school to teach armoury in French-speaking Europe. The Haute Ecole de la Ville de Liège has several training categories : economic, paramedical, educational, technical and translation/ interpreting. It has 25 bachelor’s courses including a bachelor’s in orthoptics which is unique in French-speaking Belgium. The University of Liège is over 200 years old. With almost 25,000 students enrolled, it offers one of the broadest and most diverse course selections in the country. The University of Liège makes openness to the world one of its priorities. ULiège offers exchange programmes for students and teachers, as well as joint or multiple degree programmes, international or English courses, and the strengthening of scientific cooperation through strong international partnerships. More than 1,500 agreements underpin the teaching and research collaboration with more than 68 countries. Within ULiège, HEC Liège management school is part of the group of 130 schools with dual accreditation from EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) and AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) worldwide. These ‘passports to excellence’ reflect its desire to achieve a high level of quality in teaching, research and governance. The Faculty of Applied Sciences at HEC Liège – University of Liège Management School offers a ‘Digital Business’ course to obtain the two Master’s degrees in IT or IT Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Management Engineering in 3 years of study after the Bachelor’s. The school also offers a new dual track Master’s degree in Sales Management, the first course in Belgium aiming to train sales executives to occupy high-level strategic positions.
