NEXT STOP LIÈGE | Remarkable page - 39 Perron representing Liège’s freedoms, is the symbol of the city of Liège. It is listed as exceptional heritage of Wallonia. The baptismal fonts of Saint Bartholomew’s Collegiate Church Dating back to the 12 th century, they are a real masterpiece of Roman sculpture in both aesthetic and technical terms. The baptismal fonts come from the Church of Notre-Dame-au-Fonts (a small church linked to Saint Lambert’s Cathedral). In 1804, after the Concordat, they were installed in Saint-Bartholomew’s Collegiate Church with the cathedral and the Notre-Dame-au-Fonts Church having been destroyed. © ArsenG One of the seven wonders of Belgium (established by the General Tourism Service) can be found in Liège © Ville de Liège - Jean-Pierre Ers Tour cybernétique Nicolas Schöffer’s Cybernetic Tower is the latest monument to have received the title of exceptional heritage (in 2009). This tower is 52 metres high and operates using motors activated by an electronic brain. Three types of actions are triggered : movement, music and lighting. It housed a hydrophore pump, a power generator and blast resistant doors It’s the only air raid shelter listed as Walloon heritage.
